Kate

I walked into Kate's room and found that she had climbed into her exersaucer (which she hadn't used in months) and was jumping happily.  I took a video but soon after she started jumping in it Lily came in and she was thoroughly distracted by the cat.  She loves our cats and calls them both Lily.

She loves Lily so much that she even took a nap with her one day.  This is a picture of the baby monitor but you can see Lily curled up in one corner and Kate sleeping nearby. This was a first and probably only occurrence but it was fun to see.  Lily has a special spot for Kate the way Higgins does with Lucy.

Memorial Day Picnic

We enjoyed a beautiful Memorial Day bike ride to a nearby lake for fishing and a picnic lunch.  We had a great time with Grandma and Gram and look forward to when Jeremy is done with school and can do these outings too.

Even Kate got in the fishing spirit.

Fun fishing, no catching

Cousins Owen and Penelope

We were thrilled to get to host my cousin Marya and her family over the weekend.  We met baby Penelope who was almost two months old and the three cousins who are all about 2 months apart got to hang out (Owen, E and Kate).

End of the School Year for Lucy

Lucy loved her school year.  She is already looking forward to next year and did a great job.  She was complimented for being such a good friend to her classmates.
The last day of school in the classroom was a Clifford Birthday Party. She of course loved it!
The last school event was to picnic at the park.  The weather had turned so we didn't actually picnic there but we enjoyed seeing her helper Mrs. S (above) and her teacher Ms. Ballinger (below) and playing with friends.

Playing on the swings
Two videos, singing happy birthday clifford style and pumping on the swings.

Animal Presentation Night

It is amazing what kids are doing in school (and yes it does cause some mixed feelings about how fast we are pushing our kids and the importance of play).  Jaydon had an animal project that he had to do and then they had a presentation night where people could walk around and ask questions to the students about their animals. He chose to do the Kodiak Bear.  He worked hard creating his diorama and learning some facts to present.  It was also cool because Granny and Papa from Kodiak were able to send down some fun things to enhance his project, including a real bear claw!

It was amazing to see all the kids and their presentations.

Kate's first pony tail

My kids will probably be very grateful for their hair as they get older because it is like mine and will be pretty low maintenance.  However, for babies it does pose a challenge.  Kate is entering the mullet'y' stage and she is just starting to get enough on top to get in her eyes.  I don't want to cut bangs and she won't keep in clips so the snorkle pony tail is being implemented.

Morning Reading Time

After cleaning the breakfast dishes I came out into the living room and found both of my girls 'reading.'  Oh how I love seeing them look through stories on their own.
Kate decided the broken box was the place for her stories

Lucy was on the couch, miraculously sans Higgins.  I love her expression in the second pic.  She is growing up too fast!

Tower

Lucy posing with her tower, it isn't always easy to build a tower with a younger sister around so we have to get pictures quickly.

Swim Lessons

Jaydon and Lucy are back in swim lessons.  Lucy is such a fish and Jaydon is such a scholar.  He listens and works so hard to follow all the teacher directions, Lucy just wants to frolic in the water and is having a bit of a hard time following the "one hand on the wall at all times" rule.  They are both enjoying it and learning quite a bit, we are getting closer to having independent swimmers.

Kids Fish-in

Grandma loves fishing and she looks forward to sharing that love with her grandkids.  To celebrate mother's day for her we all got together for the local fish-in.  Jaydon and Lucy each got to catch a couple fish and the had a wonderful time.  It was a stocked lake so the fish were pretty easy to come by which made it all the more fun for the kids.

My little fishers
Auntie and E were on hand to enjoy the day
We got to enjoy some playground time
