Summer fun

We are having some fun enjoying the sun and our gym. It has become pool season and the kids love hanging out with friends in the pool.
These are from our clubhouse pool!

Jaydon has joined a ninja class, he loves it!
Lucy and Jaydon enjoyed the climbing wall at our gym!

Jaydon made it to the top - the first time he has ever made it all the way.

Lucy was on a tricky section and made it half way - they did great.

We used our Christmas presents of season passes to a local water park and had a good time!

Lucy is our little daredevil and she went down the steep speedy black slide pictured below!

Then to kick off the season we had a clubhouse bbq and enjoyed the pool (though it was a bit chilly even for us Washingtonians)!

Visit to WA

With the kids year round school and having from Dec 21st to Feb 4th off of school I decided a trip to WA was in order. We left on Jan 3rd (when Jeremy had to head back to work) and then got back home on Jan 22nd so we enjoyed close to three weeks of vacation. The kids traveled really well and we had a few different stops built in and a hotel stay each night. Then we got a chance to visit with a lot of family and friends for our stay! It was so fun to see everyone and hang out and bonus - I got to teach at my old school for 6 days while Grandma and Gram had kid duty so it felt like a true vacation for me too. We were bummed Dad had to stay and work but it is a busy time. I didn't get very many pics of all the things we did, too busy having too much fun!

Our first hotel night on the way up. (I forgot swimsuits so we had to run out and grab some)
First stop, Auntie Jenny's. Unfortunately our Seahawks lost but we still had fun cheering for our team.
Blurry pics of the cheering cousisn

A canoe ride with Uncle
Some quiet relaxing time
We made it back to 'our' side right in time to see the twins get dedicated at church!
Arriving at Grandma's enjoying the bed!
Kate was 'helping' Gram read her new book. Telling all kinds of made up stories about the pictures she saw.
If you look carefully you can see Kate wrote her numbers 1-10 on the chalkboard
Gram and Lucy would enjoy morning yoga time.
So blessed to visit old neighbors Bob and Mary (the girls even got to have a sleep over there)
Lucy enjoyed visiting with the dogs at Bob and Mary's
Kate was quite decked out for a trip to the Lamb's house.
More morning yoga, Kate joined in this time.

Our pool on the trip home (way nicer than the way up)!
At a friends house playing in the band!

So many incredible memories, if it wasn't so hard for me to teach a traditional schedule while kids were year round schedule I could do this forever and enjoy vacations in off times like Jan, May and Oct. We truly enjoyed ourselves and survived very well for the long car ride both ways.

The rest of our NC vacation

We love our family reunions in NC, visiting the lake house and hanging out with our extended family. This year was extra special because more people were able to make it (my sister and her family, along with both of my mom's siblings and significant others made it).
We got our traditional room above the garage. The kids love it!

After the mud run we went to a night movie at a winery (unfortunately there had been some rain and it messed with the equipment so we couldn't watch the movie but the kids still had fun with their glow sticks).

One afternoon we went to a nearby resort for a few hours, it was pretty cool with different pools and activities and a beach too.

The kids and I drove to see Great Aunt Carol (my Grandma's sister) and Great Uncle Bill at their new apartment.

Enjoying a huge family dinner out before most people were leaving the next morning.

Good luck seeing it but that is the whole gang.

I had so much fun playing in the lake I neglected to take my camera down and get pictures of us in it. Oh well, trust me it was wonderful.
Poor little Kate got a pretty high fever and threw up a few hours before we had to leave (for a few hours of car driving and then a 6 hour flight). Luckily two of my cousins are Drs. so we were able to get a anti-nausea drug to make it back to SEA. More on this saga in the next post.
Our wonderful host Sally drew a family tree to help the newer members of the family understand who all was present at the event.
It was another fantastic reunion and I am so thankful so many people were able to make it.
