Happy Halloween

We had a wonderful Halloween.  Since it was a Saturday, we were able to take the kids to two high school harvest festivals and then do trick-or-treating at our neighborhood.  They had so much fun.
First stop was Cascade High School, Jeremy took the older kids here while I took Kate to the Dr. for her ear infection.
My black cat and cookie monster loved making their cookies.

Then in the afternoon we all went to Mariner High School to see the Angelos family and participate in their Harvest Festival.

I really wanted to try the donut on a string game, the kids sure had fun.

Then at our house ending the evening with trick-or-treating
We forgot to get a pic with the three kids together in their costumes early enough so by the time we tried they were not all that happy.

This was the first year the kids really got into trick-or-treating and would run from one house to the next, it was so fun.

Checking out their loot! It was quite the haul, thank goodness for Candy buybacks.

Pumpkin carving

Annual pumpkin carving at Landers' Lodge. We had a fun night hanging out with good friends/neighbors, carving pumpkins, eating yummy food and watching some world series baseball.

More carving fun, Caroline was drilling hers.

Art time

We got a fun new kids table and chairs at Costco and it has been great. Sturdy enough for the grownups to sit in and play at but just the right size for the kids.  We also got a few more art supplies because the kids have started taking more interest in it.
Lucy and Kate working hard

She is so proud of herself when she climbs up on things.
Playdate with our friend Lillian

Kate's first masterpieces.  She loves coloring on the paper and we are just thankful for crayola's magic colors that only show up on the specific type of paper.

Sick

Kate was not feeling well, here she is clinging to her lovie Sylvester and snuggling with Mom.  The bummer is that she got another ear infection and this one didn't go away with the first course of meds so if she gets another one or two in the next few months she will probably have to get tubes.

Cousin E

Cousin E came over to spend the night and hang out one day.  We had a good time and E and Kate are pretty fun together.

Higgins had to come say hello.
We had a busy morning getting ready for Jaydon to go to school and getting all the kids fed so Jaydon and Lucy helped feed E and Kate.

Yardwork

We had such beautiful weather Sunday afternoon that we all headed outside.  I worked on some yardwork, Jeremy carved the pumpkin, Kate hung out in her exersaucer (she is crawling around into everything so it is now the only way we can get a lot of work done outside with her around too).  Lucy worked with our neighbor Ida and Jaydon helped Jeremy.  Cash and Higgins were even out enjoying the weather and getting to know one another.

The Leighton's Pumpkin Party

Another Halloween season, another fun pumpkin party at the Leighton's.  We are so lucky to be able to have these fun traditions that we do every year.  And I am thankful for the blog which allows me to quickly click on the different years and see how everyone is growing.  Auntie Jenny and E made it this year too.
Our little smurf family - Jen always has been about as tall as snurfette :-)
Kate and Papa John making similar faces.
Papa reading some stories
Gnome Brenna and Cat Lucy were hard at work in the kitchen making the dessert

Whereas Cookie Monster Jaydon just wanted to eat cookies (or crackers).  He had me resurrect this costume from 3 years ago, thankfully I had some of the fabric left over and quickly added a bit to the legs and around the neck, it was still a very tight squeeze.
More kitchen work, this time on the finger cookies

Taking a little hike around the trails with the kiddos
Pumpkin Carving time - Papa always grows us some nice big pumpkins to carve.

Another fun year!
