Happy Easter - Egg Hunt #4

What a glorious Easter, warm weather, good friends and family, egg hunts and tasty food!  We even managed to enjoy some pool time while it was still March - unheard of in our area!
The kids having some fun running around outside and playing in the kiddie pool.

Sure enough it didn't take Lucy long to try climbing in so she got to go naked!
Egg hunt for the young kids!  Jaydon and Brenna each had 8 eggs hidden in the garden area and they had a great time hunting!

Lucy had a few eggs 'hidden' in the grass for her to find.

Showing off their loot!

Lucy diving into her bucket
The Easter Bunny always provides some donations for the kids piggy banks!
Lucy enjoying the swing!
And we got to celebrate Uncle Greg's birthday!  So fun!

Happy Easter - Egg Hunt #3

We had a good time at church, both kids actually attended their own classrooms and then we took part in the community egg hunt that our church hosts.  I have realized that while the hats were good for a hot sunny day they were not so good for photos, sorry!
Waiting to begin
Lucy as a 1 year old got to go first, she took off and ran/walked over quite a few eggs before actually picking some up.  She had a great time!

Jaydon and Lucy getting to hunt!

Finding some eggs, again he said that he was through when there were plenty of eggs left over.
Lucy wanted to give an egg to this little boys basket and then he decided to put an egg in her basket, it was pretty cute.

Checking out their eggs!

They both did art projects at church, Jadon colored and decorated his butterfly and Lucy actually colored on her picture, if you enlarge it you might see some faint color marks!
Trying to get a family photo, I don't think of having someone do this often enough so we are pretty short on good family photos and this one Lucy had a bit of a coughing attack in the middle so it isn't awesome.  We had a really wonderful morning at church and celebrating Jesus with friends before heading out for more adventures.

Happy Easter - Egg Hunt #2

Happy Easter!  We had a fabulous busy day celebrating our salvation with family and friends.
The Easter Bunny came to our house and hid some goodies for everyone to find, he nicely left this note so each person knew what color eggs to hunt for.
Jaydon got this Angry Birds card game, it has quickly become a favorite and we play it every night before bed time.
Lucy was brought this cool block set!
An egg hiding for dad.
Lucy found her hair clips, wishful thinking on the bunnies part that at some point in the next year we might actually need hair clips!
Moms haul, all dairy and soy free still.
In our house the bunny hides an egg with goodies inside next to a gift or toy instead of having baskets of goodies.  Jaydon is waaay more interested in the eggs because he has discovered the joy of candy.

Coloring Easter Eggs

The night before Easter we finally got around to coloring our eggs.  Jaydon had a good time using the food coloring drops and squirting the spray bottle.  We decided to try a new way of decorating this year using an idea from my good friend's blog funathomewithkids.com she did tye dyed eggs with neon colored dye.  Hers were a bit more beautiful then ours but we enjoyed ourselves and I am so thankful to have an easy place to go to check out a ton of different ideas for ways to color eggs in the future.
First we put some food coloring on paper towels
Then we squirt the paper towel with some water and vinegar mixture
Then we wrap up the egg in the paper towel and tie with rubberbands and then rubberband the paper towel egg in a plastic baggie.
A few hours later (we let ours go overnight) we have crazy dyed eggs!  It was fun and pretty easy and not too messy.
Thanks Asia for a fun idea!

Neighborhood play time

We enjoyed the fabulous Easter weekend weather by heading out after the egg hunt and having some play time with our neighbors.  It is great that Emmett and ZZ share their backyard play equipment so nicely with us.

Egg Hunt #1

We had a fun and busy Easter Weekend.  While I got to go enjoy a massage on Saturday dad took the kids to a local church's community egg hunt.  They had a great time!

Jaydon is a champ egg hunter by now but he enjoys getting a few and then he will often say he has enough before all the eggs are picked up (I think he likes hunting to find them when hidden a bit more than just having hundreds of them on the grass).  Lucy did a nice job for her first year, she understood to grab them and put them in the basket.  So fun to watch them together too!

March Madness!

We love March Madness in our house! It is the one time of year when we will turn on the games and just have them running the whole time while we go about our day.  Here was a photo of Jeremy and Jaydon and Higgins enjoying some game time.  Some great games this year and some fun cinderella teams to watch.  Go Wichita State :)

Inside slide

We brought in the climbing slide and basketball hoop for the kids to play with, they have having a fabulous time and it is the first thing Lucy heads toward every morning.  Pretty fun, now if only we had a big enough house to have a playroom where this could be left  out and not take up our entire living room!
Learning from big brother
Climbing up - it took a few attempts but she now gets up like a pro.
First playing basketball!  She has her priorities :)
She was quite pleased with playing peek-a-boo through the hole on the side.

It took awhile to figure out how to sit down at the start of the slide, now she has figured that out but she will wait patiently for a parent to come over and hold a hand while she slides down.

Wee!  She loves it!  And Jaydon still gets a kick out of it.

*Side note with Jaydon, he decided while we were having a play date and kids were everywhere to take his explorer truck up the ladder and go down the slide on his truck.  Thankfully no kids were close by when he came down and he actually did ride the truck successfully down.  I am sure he now thinks that was amazing and I just hope he doesn't do it again.
