Chariot

We are so lucky that Grandma and Gram bought this chariot when Jaydon was a baby.  It attaches to a bicycle, has ski attachments to go in the snow and can be used as a stroller.  For Lucy's arrival G and G bought the infant sling attachment and Lucy has slept well in it (as long as it is in motion).  Here Jaydon and Lucy are going off together with Grandma.  Seriously, my mom is kind of a stud and she jogs while pushing this thing around - it is incredible.

Lucy at One Month!

Lucy's one month birthday happened when life was a bit crazy. I was going in for surgery the next morning and we were trying to get a few things taken care of with my health so she did not get a real great first month celebration!

Here are some milestones and things I remember from the first month!  Unfortunately Lucy has had to deal with terrible diaper rash for almost all of her life, we have had her to the dr and have tried many things but she still has some open sores that haven't healed all the way.  It isn't great fun but it did mean that at one month we got her weight, she came in at 11lbs 8oz (one pound gained since birth - not nearly as quick of a grower as Jaydon but she started out so much bigger).  She lost her umbillical cord at day 11 and has managed to get some good 4-5 hour chunks of night sleep but only if she is right near you on the bed.  She takes a bottle (thank goodness!) and enjoys bouncing on the big exercise ball just like her brother.  She also managed to roll over very early, day 30 (very much like Jaydon) we had put her on tummy time and she looked up and rolled over onto her back.  She did it a couple times but was propped fairly high on her arm to start.  She is definitely a mover - she wiggles and can move around on the bed and scooch herself forward by kicking her legs during tummy time.  She is a strong girl!
Proof of bottle taking and I think this photo was actually taken on her one month birthday.
Bundled up from being outside adventuring with grandma!

Our night-walk

I had read somewhere about sometimes trying a night-walk with your kid to help get them ready for bed.  Have them all ready in pjs and then go out in the cool night air and have a quiet little walk.  Well we decided to try it!  Jaydon decided to actually run or walk really fast around our entire neighborhood.  He finally at the end up the big hill decided to go in the stroller.  It was a fun walk but didn't seem to settle him down as much as we were hoping.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to me!  What a fabulous day (not to mention it was the day before all the crap came to be with my health, so my body granted me one extra good day).  Jeremy asked what I wanted and I have really been on a service kick, I don't need anything and really just wanted some chores done - he did a fabulous job making the yard beautiful and cleaning out my entire car and washing it.  AWESOME!! It was great weather so we enjoyed a picnic outside and then that evening went to Red Robin for dinner, all in all a pretty wonderful way to ring in 32.
My yard and car :)

Granny, Lucy and Jaydon enjoying our picnic.
Lucy's first restaurant experience, she slept until the very end!
Granny and Grandma and the birthday girl
Jaydon even got spoiled and got a smoothie, think he was happy!?!
Yeah for gooey chocolate cake.
My little family, I even blew out the candles by myself - which if you know me is sort of impressive.

Thank you for a wonderful day to all my friends and family!

Granny gets to visit!

Granny got to come visit and help us out for a week, it was great to have her around to play with Jaydon, snuggle with Lucy and help around the house.  We loved her visit and wish she lived closer!

Auntie!

With how crazy the wedding weekend was for Jen and L, she didn't get a chance to hold her niece so she came up over the weekend and got some good snuggle time in.  You can see Lucy enjoyed her visit.
Jen also saved our butts two weeks later when after my D and C I spiked the fever and had to go to the hospital for three days, she was home parenting both of my kids and doing a great job.  Thank you for all your help Jen.

The neglected pets

Higgins and Lily have certainly been feeling a little neglected.  They have both gotten a bit desperate for attention and have started climbing into bed with Jaydon to get some snuggles.
Higgins stayed with Jaydon for probably an hour one night.
Higgins and Lily found the sun in the guest room, life was good!

Playing with Wombat

Jaydon and dad enjoyed playing with Russ and Allie's dog Wombat at the Easter festivities.

Jaydon enjoyed using the ball throwing tool, but he didn't quite have the strength to send the ball flying.
The wind up

Ooops, the ball stayed in, but Wombat took off!
With a little help from dad everyone was happy.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!  We had a fabulous full day of festivities.

First we had our traditional egg hunt through the house for the goodies the Easter Bunny brought Jaydon and Lucy. There is an egg hidden next to a present. Jaydon got a Thomas book and some bubbles and some play-doh, it was great.

Next we went to church and after the service we had the kids hunt there. It was soooo windy it was crazy but Jaydon had fun and got quite a few eggs. As you can see they aren't really hidden at this stage, they are just hanging out on the grass.

In the afternoon we headed to Nana Lainie and Papa John's house. It is a yearly tradition and we had a great time visiting with friends and family and eating some great food. Not to mention celebrating Wendy's birthday as well!
Jaydon and Brenna lookin' good.
Papa John with my niece Piper, we were so glad Kelsey and Tyler could make it from AZ for the visit.
Let the hunt begin!

"I see one"
There were eggs hidden for the little kids and then there were eggs hidden for the big kids (namely my generation) and so we all had a fun time hunting. Here Jaydon is spying one of the eggs hidden for the 'big kids.'
Piper Swinging!
It was such a glorious day, the sun was shining, it was warm (minus the wind at the church hunt) and we had a really great time.  Such a busy first two weeks of Lucy's life!

Asia and Craig visit

Asia and Craig came to visit us and it was fabulous, they brought good food and Asia brought her camera and took some great pictures of Lucy.  It was fun to have them up, I know I posted a few pics already but here are more.  Enjoy!

And one image actually taken of Asia with Lucy, sorry Craig I guess you were ignored in this meeting process.  We look forward to being able to get Lucy and Xander (born three weeks later) together soon to hang out.

Lucy Sleeping

Lucy definitely gives me more sleep than her big brother did - thank goodness.  However, she does not want to sleep on her own!  I have yet to get her to sleep on her back, after hours of trying and her waking up every couple minutes crying I have given up.  If she falls asleep on me on her tummy I can then transition her to the couch or bed on her tummy and she may stay sleeping for awhile.  At night we manage to break all the rules right now and she sleeps on her side in the bed with me.  It is the only way I can get sleep and at this point that is a bit of a priority.
Here was an attempt to have her sleep on her back, tucked between the couch and a pillow to make her feel cuddled still, didn't work, she was up within just a couple minutes.
Here is the stomach sleeping that has worked on occasion.

Hangin' at home

Here are a few photos of us being home and around the house.

Jaydon reading a story to Lucy, it was awesome!!

More snuggle time with Lucy and Jaydon. Yes it is April but Jaydon enjoys wearing his santa pajamas and requests them frequently.
Smooshy face :)
Jaydon and Jeremy playing with trains. Jaydon has loved having his train sets and makes different tracks out of them often. It is a great toy for him right now and he is loving doing all kinds of things with his trains and tracks.
