Kate turns 4!

Every year I am surprised at how fast time seems to go...I remember it crawling by waiting for Christmas or a birthday to arrive and now it seems I blink and we are at another milestone. My baby is 4 (going on 14)! She is super sweet, snuggly and sassy! She makes friends with everyone she meets (as evidenced by joining school a month late and fitting in as though she never missed a day), adults and children. She likes talking with people and telling them about how she is doing and asking how they are. If she can hold a door open for you she will. Dolls, horses, stories and shows are some of her favorite things to do. She loves make-up and nail polish and fancy things. She is great at playing individually but loves to have play dates and play with members of her family, games and pretend play with dolls are a hit. She does well in school, lots of her teachers mention she is bright and remembers information really well. She tells great stories and is a very happy girl. We are so blessed to have her smile and sass every day!
Wow, so maybe it is a third child thing (or that I love pumpkin pie too) but she wanted pumpkin pie for dessert for her birthday but also to go to the big ice cream shop for her free sundae so we did both. Pumpkin pie for breakfast it was!

Then after dinner we hit up the ice cream shop

She loved the attention of getting sung too! A sports team came in and sang along, you can see at the end how she waves to everyone. Stinkin' cute!
Then time to open presents and drop in with Granny and Papa

The next day we did a birthday party at the park near our house (like 5 houses down the street). Many friends from her preschool came and she had a wonderful time.

I can only ever put the last little bit of the Happy Birthday song on here because I have to keep the videos to less than 15 seconds for them to work. Enjoy!

First Lost Tooth!

Guess what Kindergartener and almost 6 year old lost her first tooth!  Lucy!
She pulled it out herself and was a champ, not too much blood, no tears (unlike her aunt when she lost her first tooth) and she was very excited. She even wrote a note asking the tooth fairy if she could keep the tooth so she could show it to lots of people. The tooth fairy was kind enough to bring her some money and leave her the tooth too.

Jaydon turns 8, part 2

Wow, our oldest is 8, he starts 2nd grade in a couple days and he is amazing. He loves baseball and football still, he loves playing games and being active. He reads, he enjoys math and impresses us all frequently with his skills. He is often sweet and caring and really thinks of others (the exceptions are when he picks on his sisters and sometimes being asked to help pack or unpack from an event). He enjoys school. He has a room to himself now and has enjoyed some more freedoms with a slightly later bedtime or reading in bed before he goes to sleep. We are blessed to have him and are so proud to be his family. All our love Bubba!

He has been wanting some footie pajamas!

Lots of sports stuff and baseball stuff.  He was thrilled!
We did dinner at Red Robin and dessert at Baskin n' Robbins. Quite yummy but I forgot to get pictures.

Happy 5th Birthday Lucy!

Lucy is 5! She is wonderful. She is very inquisitive, friendly and strong. She loves to read books (just starting to sound out and recognize some words on her own), the Rainbow Fairies are a particular favorite. She still has Lambie and sucks her thumb when she is tired or watching a show (she is a bit of a picker, she picks at strings coming off of Lambie and at her tights (which now all have holes in them) and at anything that has a loose or frayed edge). She enjoys school and does very well playing with others and being a leader in the class. She is liked by others and can certainly have her bossy moments.  She loves games and catches on to them quickly. A new favorite is Mexican Train Dominoes - she really gets how to set up her train and make it all work.  She has strong coordination and enjoys her gymnastics, riding her bike and she just got a new razor scooter she is loving. She is also a bit crafty (much to my chagrin because it means I have to try and be crafty at times and that doesn't always work out too well). She is patient and kind, she plays well with Kate (and sometimes fights like crazy with Jaydon). She can also really show her stubborn streak and give a pretty good attitude but when she snaps out of it and realizes she hasn't done something right she wants to make up for it and she gives great hugs and kisses. We are blessed beyond measure with this little girl who is growing up so fast.  We love you to Pluto and back Lucy Ann!
Good friends of ours had a family emergency so we took their boys Asher and Knox for a few days, it was fun and they got to enjoy all the birthday activities with us.

We also had a broken fridge right at the time we were getting ready to have our dinner. Jeremy had to do some research.

Super excited about her fly box that Grandma got her and tied a bunch of flies to put in. She loves to go fishing with Grandma.

Yuck, to get our fridge out we had to take off all the molding and window sill, the nice thing is we now have a fridge that fits the space.

Lucy had asked for a mermaid tail blanket - wish granted.

She got to celebrate her birthday on Monday at school. She had a fun few days of celebrating!

Kate is 2

Our baby is 2.  Happy Birthday Kaitlyn! She is our petite girl coming in at 24lbs 14oz and 31.3in both those stats put her between the 25-30th percentile. Her head is in the 75% so like her brother and sister she has a big ol' brain in there :-)  Kate is very fun, she is extremely talkative and enjoys playing and laughing and just being part of everything that is going on.  She loves dressing up in shoes of all kinds that are too big for her and she and Lucy dress up in dancing leotards or other dress up outfits quite often.  She still sleeps with binky (the same 2 from the hospital at her birth) and she has figured out how to get them out of her crib by throwing a blanket in and dragging it forward to pull the binky out, we are trying very hard to make binky only for bedtime but she is a stinker and manages to 'steal' it at other times.
She totally understood her birthday this year, she loved singing the song to herself and opening presents. Lots of smiles and laughter from her. She was at the YMCA on her birthday and the class sang happy birthday to her, after they were done she immediately looked around and said "cake, cake." Haha, she is my daughter.  She has started watching a bit of Sesame Street on the TV but doesn't always last too long, she likes to be active.  She gets to do her own gymnastics class now, after watching big sister and getting jealous she really enjoys going to the gym knowing it is her turn.  She will say "my 'nastics," she is great at following directions in her class and trying out the new skills.  She still loves her snuggle time and I love that every morning she just comes into bed with me for awhile before we have to get up and start our day.
Perfect capture of our girl, sneaking her binky, wearing sisters tap shoes, playing on the stairs with her whale spout ponytail.
More presents

She likes art and I will often find her leaning way over her page looking close up to what she is doing with little scribbles.
Dessert time - her favorite!

This pic is from a week or so later but since it is still opening presents from her b-day I added it here.

I have finally got videos working on the blog but they can only be 15 seconds or less so I have to cut them all short, that is why all the videos are randomly cut off!
