Sleepy time

I have not been able to sleep well (too huge) so I have been sleeping out on the couch every night.  On this night I came into the bedroom and found Higgins sleeping there but couldn't even see Jeremy.  Sure enough as I got a closer look he was buried under all the pillows quite snuggled up, I'm glad one of us can sleep!

Lucy's new bed

With the new baby due to arrive in about a month it was time to get Lucy her new bed.  She will be sharing a room with her brother and there was a perfect spot for her toddler bed to fit.  She and her brother were thrilled about the new bed. They have shared a room a couple nights and we have also had Lucy back in her crib a few times as we don't truly need her room for the baby for a little while.
Both kiddos think it is pretty cool
Lucy is feeling so grown up!
We got her some new bedding and Higgins had to try it out!
Higgins has probably slept in her bed more than she has but here she made sure to cover him with her blanky to make him more comfortable.

Potty Training

Lucy is getting close to potty training, Jeremy reminded me that we used to use jelly beans with Jaydon so we told Lucy about it and she was all for it.  Her first successful potty attempt led to three jelly beans (a bit of a bonus for the first time).  She is still not too sure she wants to use the potty much so we will just keep asking and see what happens.

Jaydon and the cats

Jaydon loves our cats (so does Lucy)!
Here Jaydon built a little nest for Higgins, actually he just decided to surround Higgins in his box with soft things.

Jaydon called me over one morning to get the camera to take a picture with Lily

Then he slid down the couch to get one with Higgins on the other end.

Visit with Gram and Bill

Gram and her best friend Bill came to visit us.  It had been a long time since we had seen Bill and we had a wonderful visit with them.  Hopefully it won't be another 3 years til the next time!

Sam and Willis get married

What a beautiful day at Driftwood Key to celebrate the wedding of my cousin Sam and her new husband Willis.  We were so thankful to be able to take part in her amazing day.

Reading with Snow White

Lucy loves her princess dress up clothes and she also loves reading stories.  This morning I found her reading to herself from her Princess Manners book while wearing her Snow White outfit.  Pretty cute!

I don't remember what led to this cute cuddle session but I had to get a photo of my two guys!

Taking Higgins for a walk

We decided to take a walk one evening and bring Higgins along, he used to go for walks with us quite a few years ago and was a bit out of practice.  He made it to the end of the cul de sac and then we took him home and continued on our own for a bit.
Higgins on the leash

The kids love it!

Higgins was really not too into it

He did make it to the end of the cul de sac!

Jaydon's first day of Pre-K

Jaydon started his last year of preschool!  He is in a Pre-K class with all 5 year olds and he was sure excited to start his new year.  Here are some obligatory first day photos (though I will be honest I never remember to do last day photos and am not entirely sure how long I will remember the first day ones :-))!
Showing off his backpack and getting ready for a great first day

Lucy insisted on being part of the photos too!

Posing in front of the apple tree before heading into the classroom
Enjoying some special ice cream after his fun first day!  He had a great time and has one friend in class from his class last year so it is great.

Etienne arrives

I was so excited to get to head to the hospital and meet my new nephew!  My sister and her husband welcomed their first baby and it was awesome to be there right after the little guy arrived.  They did wind up having to have a c-section due to the baby's heart rate dropping a few times in utero but everyone is doing great.  He weighed 6lbs 11oz and was 20in long (to respect my sisters family wishes I am not including lots of facts with name, date, time etc.)
Proud Papa walking into the room holding his new little guy
One happy Grandma welcoming her newest grandson
The new Mama already recovering well
There is our precious little guy
The little family
Such a happy, loving family!
Mama with her new guy
He was so well behaved and quiet that I had to get a photo when he finally let loose!  He wanted milk by golly and he was going to tell everyone about it!  Perfection!
Aunties turn!  I got to be holding him during his first Seahawks team score!  Go Hawks!

Papa is a natural and was praised by all the nurses, here they are getting ready to do the PKU foot test (draw blood thing) so Etienne got to be bundled up and held this way to keep the blood flowing the right way.  It was pretty cute and seriously, he cried a bit the first prick and then sort of just handled all the others without much of a peep!
We are all excited to have a new family member and my kiddos are getting pretty anxious to meet their new cousin.  It is also pretty cool that our new baby will get to have a cousin who is so close in age.
