Kate in undies

This is one of those posts that will get me in trouble years down the road when Kate is old enough to look through the blog on her own.  She found Lucy's underwear one day and had a grand old time putting it on, in many different places :-)

The end look with it around her neck and on her legs, good try little one.

Kate is 1.5

Kate is an adorable one and a half year old.  She has a grin that can make anyone smile and she loves to show it off.  She is starting to use more words that are understandable (to her immediate family) and knows what she wants.  She continues to be a pretty easy, go with the flow kiddo - until she has to stop doing something she wants to do - then she is a hitter, biter and pincher.  We are working hard to stop this behavior (and it is almost exclusively directed at me), but it has been tough, I have a few marks to show for it.  Sure goes to show each child is unique and their own individual.  She eats well (though likes to have a dip with her veggies, just like older sister) and still wants milk only from the source (just like her older brother did). She has started to enjoy playing dress up as you can see in the below pictures.  My extra purse and shoes are a big hit though she has just started trying to put on any items of clothing she finds left out no matter how big or small.  She is a good sleeper though she does still use a binky in her crib, she takes a decent nap each afternoon and sleeps well through the night.  She also loves Higgins and Lily and calls any cat Lily, it is pretty cute.  She weighed in at 23lbs 5oz at her 18 month well child check and was right about 29.5inches tall, she has been right around the 50th percentile for growth most of her life.

Our life sure wouldn't be the same without our little munchkin, we sure love her!

Trip to visit cousin E

Dad had to work a conference one Saturday so the kids an I headed out to the water to visit with cousin E and grandma who was babysitting him. After lunch and some nap time when grandma took the older two on a bike adventure, we went for a walk and to play at the beach. It was a lovely sunny day.
Both toddlers got to ride in the BOB
On the trails we all hiked
We watched the heron fish.

Kate found the pony (just like we used to have when we were kids), she loved it!

Bubble Bath

Lucy got some new bubble bath as a late birthday present and enjoyed sharing her tub time with Kate.  They had a great time playing and 'cleaning' the tub. Jaydon and Lucy were hoping it would be just like Granny and Papa's bubble bath with their jetted tub on our last visit to Kodiak, while it wasn't that crazy it was definitely enough to please our kids.

Camping/biking

Over spring break Grandma and Gram took advantage of their free visits to a nearby camping 'resort' for 4 nights.  I brought the kids up for a bike ride and Jaydon and Lucy then stayed to camp out for two nights.  Then Kate and I headed up to pick them up and we did another bike ride.  It was great weather and a fun time for all!
Getting ready for our first bike ride into town

Jaydon rode the whole way easily and Lucy climbed in the Chariot (double cart) for only about a quarter of a mile.  So they both rode about 5 miles with Jaydon doing a bit more.

We took up all the bike rack space at the local restaurant

We had a fun ride and enjoyed our meal.  The kids ultimately had a great camping trip and I enjoyed having just Kate around for a whole day. Thanks Grandma and Gram for a great trip.

Lucy and Higgins

Seriously, now Lucy is getting into the habit of asking for pictures to be taken with Higgins.  She loves him so much and he loves her too.

Lucy's Gymnastics Performance

Lucy had a gymnastics performance down in Seattle at the Whirligig event at the Seattle Center.  She did such an amazing job, she was nervous going in but she did the whole routine, including saying her name into the microphone in front of the audience.  We were so proud of her and it was a lot of fun, not to mention all the bouncy houses to play in after the event.

Bummer, we can only post videos that are less than 15 seconds so while we have a couple cute ones of her performance we can't post them here.  Sorry, the highlight was her doing a donkey kick (like a handstand but don't go up all the way and over rotating to end up flipping over anyway, she was surprised and just went with it).
