Choir Concert

I just mentioned in a previous post how in many CA schools music programs have been cut due to budget issues (which sucks for our students). But, the somewhat silver lining, is our school really tries hard to get music into the classrooms. Each class/grade level has at least one performance (some two) a year where they have to memorize and sing some songs. They also have this great choir opportunity for just a couple months where the kids stay after school and learn the program and then perform it for the families and community. Both Jaydon and Lucy participated and it was wonderful.

April Activities

I spoiled myself this April. A friend from my old school (teaching) asked me to come up and sub for her for a two day job. I decided to treat myself to a trip up there and I taught, spent time with my mom and Nancy, saw a few good friends and got to have a girls night out at a show! It was amazing!

We got to enjoy a few different birthday parties!

Serena was moving away to TX but we are sure thankful we got to know her and spend some time together this school year.

Both of my Grandma's were such special wonderful women and my Grandma Lahti would have turned 100 so in her memory we had peanut butter on a spoon with chocolate chips! Miss you Grandma!

 Sunny, warm days are starting. Not quite pool weather but close so the kids got their suits on and we blew up our little boat and they created a mini pool

 Grandpa came for a quick weekend trip and played a little 4 square (or 3 square as the case may be)

Happy Easter!

We sure did miss getting to celebrate Easter at the Leighton's house this year but our kids did enjoy a couple different fun Easter events. This year Easter fell on my birthday (for the first time in my life) so that made it an extra special day.

Egg hunt in the morning, the Easter Bunny wasn't fooled that we lived in a new house

 We had so many Easter eggs and so much Easter candy from a few different community hunts we enjoyed that the night before Easter we went and served as the Easter Bunny for a number of friends on our street. The kids had such a wonderful time hiding eggs for our neighbors to find!

A week before Easter we went to the Croatian Hall with our friends for a fun Easter celebration there! The kids had a blast.
