Ouch!

I took this photo on my phone about 15 minutes after this accident happened. He took a header into a neighbors concrete patio from 2 steps up. He is a very tough kiddo and hardly cried at all and then was right back at it playing. The bump certainly looks ugly but he handled it very well - in fact the worse thing for him was seeing himself in the mirror.

Happy Easter!

We love Easter! It is Jeremy's favorite holiday and a very special reason to celebrate! He died for us and we get to celebrate and feel the love throughout the day and all year long. We had a ton of Easter activities happening this year and it was a blast. Jaydon really got into finding eggs and he managed to open a chocolate candy and eat it before we realized it - he loved it!

First thing in the morning we did an egg hunt around our house for the presents that the Easter Bunny brought. Jaydon found eggs and next to the eggs were some gifts. First he found his new Easter book!
Next he spotted the sidewalk chalk.
Lastly he found the tricky bubbles hiding under the tv table.
Then we colored some Easter eggs. I was lazy this year and while I had hard boiled 6 eggs a couple days before I didn't really want to get out the dye cups and do all that so, I found some snap top Q-tip dye pens and they worked just fine for the small number of eggs we colored.
A few of our masterpieces! Side note: Jaydon is a huge fan of scrambled eggs, not at all a fan of hard-boiled eggs.
We then headed to church and enjoyed a nice service and they had a great Egg Hunt and Breakfast set up for people. This egg hunt was fun because they staggered the start even within the field and the 1 year olds got a little head start to actually pick up some eggs without being trampled, there were also less people and still a ton of eggs.
Jaydon really enjoyed going around and finding eggs. I realized when we got home he had only picked up green eggs. It was pretty funny.

Opening his loot.

He was pretty excited about it!
Then to wrap up our Easter celebrations we headed over to the Leighton family house and enjoyed another couple egg hunts (one for the little kids (Jaydon and Brenna) and one for the big kids (us)) and a lovely dinner.
Jaydon and Brenna were anxiously awaiting their trip to the backyard.
And they're off!
Jaydon enjoyed finding the eggs that were actually hidden under something like clumps of grass.
Walking along with Daddy.
then he got really excited because he found the dog ball thrower and we had to take a break and play with the dog for awhile.
Brenna finding her eggs.
Jaydon cracks me up in this pose. He reminds me of such a little boy chillin' with his egg.

Jaydon got to enjoy a few bites of cherry pie and ice cream - pretty delicious! All together it was a fabulous couple weeks of celebrating Easter and we enjoyed, hopefully next year we will get to add the big Orthodox celebration to our posts but since the two dates coincided this year we had to miss that party.

Tennis

Jaydon enjoys playing with his tennis racket and tennis balls. We have gone to the tennis courts at the local high school a couple times and while he doesn't use his racket he enjoys throwing the balls over the net.

Community Egg Hunt

Let me first say that while the photos and updates I have been posting make it look like we have had a lot of nice weather, that is not the case. We have just gotten somewhat lucky on Saturday mornings.

The Boys and Girls club had a large Easter Egg hunt arranged and we thought it may be fun to attend. There were a lot of people in attendance and I think I heard something like 5,000 eggs. It was fun and fast.

Jaydon enjoyed walking on bike rack.
There were some animals there for the kids to pet, this dog was absolutely huge - you can't really get the full effect in the photo but it was a big dog!
Pygmy goats!
Petting the bunny!
The Plumb Pack joined us. Here was a photo of Melody and Grayden.
A whole lot of eggs. The tape in the middle was just dividing the three sections: 0-4, 5-8 and 9-12. They had the kids all start on one edge and staggered the start by section but didn't do any staggering within a section. The 4 year olds were pretty fast compared to the 1 year olds.
Jaydon managed to grab a few eggs and I managed to get two photos of him hunting that didn't have other kids running through the shot. Within 3 minutes every egg was gone, it was pretty crazy.

Another quite typical photo of Jaydon, not really smiling and wondering why he was supposed to be holding this egg up to show me.
This may have been his favorite part. There was a little girl who was collecting the cones and putting them on this stick. The stick was a little too tall for Jaydon but he made a valiant effort and enjoyed getting them over the little broken piece that the cones would often get stuck on.

Happy Birthday!

I celebrated my birthday this year with a little less pizazz than last year but it was still awesome. I took Jaydon to his gym class in the morning which is always fun. Then Gram and her best friend Bill came up and hung out for a little while at our house and then we went out to a lovely lunch at the Colophon Cafe. It managed to be sunny for part of the day though not necessarily warm (we have had a terrible spring weather wise).

Here are a couple photos of Gram, Bill and Jaydon.

A couple pictures after lunch. Jeremy was able to join us at the very end to get to say hello.
Notice the big bandage on Jeremy's finger - you should ask him about the story sometime, it is sort of sad yet quite funny, darn toilet paper dispensers.

Take a walk in my shoes...

Jaydon found my shoes one day, he only managed to get one on but I guess he wore it around the house for awhile.

The Bunny Party!

We have some great friends who are AWESOME! They have a daughter, Sophie, who is 7 weeks older than Jaydon and they have a great backyard. Asia knows how to throw a party and this time she planned a bunny party with easter eggs and plenty of outdoor fun for the kids. The weather actually held out and it was a blast. Thanks Asia, Craig and Sophie.

While there was a ton to be excited about, Jaydon really enjoyed the bunny snacks! In this photo he might just have a few in his mouth and some in each hand.
Then the bunnies arrived! It was pretty cool to get to see them, many different kinds, and pet them and feed them and snuggle them...
Jaydon enjoyed seeing them for awhile but then the pull of the other toys and more bunny snacks won out.
He loves to swing, he is also showing off a couple super balls that he found in some of the Easter eggs.
Sophie petting a bunny that Ella was holding.
Craig and Asia (in the bunny hats), Craig must have been gazing at all the bunnies and doing some Fibonacci work in his head regarding bunnies reproducing.
Jaydon found the birdseed water table. It was a hit, unfortunately that cup of birdseed ended up all over Cole (the boy next to him) a couple times.
Found a ball, life is good!
Trying to feed a bunny, it wasn't hungry.
Lots of bunnies!
Jaydon giving a bunny a snuggle, this is how he gives kisses :-)
Sophie is a bit more proficient at giving kisses. She loved snuggling the bunnies.
