Jaydon's Bike-a-thon

Jaydon's preschool had a bike-a-thon each year that raises money for Seattle Children's Hospital, it was good timing as Jaydon had just been there and loved his visit and enjoyed the idea of earning money for the cause.
He and his classmates getting ready to ride

They did a loop around the parking lot and school building.  Jaydon did about 15 laps and had a great time.  He started on his two wheeler but with all the kid traffic we switched to his scoot bike because he had more control.
Riding around!
Grandma, Gram, Lucy, Sarah and Dad all came to watch too!  We had a great time cheering him on and giving high fives to him every lap he took.

Happy 2nd Birthday Lucy!

We had a wonderful day getting to celebrate our little girl's 2nd birthday!

She loves it!  Her own little scoot bike/trike
Adding to the look is her very cool zoo hat from auntie Karen and uncle Doug
The kids doing some Easter puzzles that morning.
I am the mean mom who actually signs my kid up for their annual check-up on their birthday which did result in a shot.  Very quick update - Lucy is doing great!  She is right around 60-65th% for all her growth stats, weighing in around 27lbs 6oz and about 34 in tall.  All of her developmental checks were great and the Dr. was extremely impressed with her vocabulary and speech skills.  She is such a talker - he said 2 year check up is typical for about 50 to 100 words and 2-4 word sentences, Lucy has a vocab of more than a few hundred and is talking in 7-10 word sentences all the time.  She also was quite the trooper not crying a single tear with her shot.  She got the poke, said that hurts and was not too happy about it but then did well, having her lovies helped.
Opening another gift that arrived in the mail
Thanks Auntie Kelsey, Uncle Tyler, Piper and Ferris, she loves her pens and paper.
Then that evening we had our neighborhood over to sing happy birthday and enjoy some dessert.
They even got Jaydon a gift.
Lucy got a new stroller of her own, she immediately got her baby and drove it around for quite some time.
Hangin' with the neighbors

Happy 2nd Birthday sweet girl!
Lovin' the cupcake!  She is a dessert hound :-)

Bike Adventure

We decided to give Jeremy more school time and I took the kids to Grandma and Grams for a bike ride.  This would be Jaydon's longest ride on his two wheel pedal bike (he would go a little over 4 miles).  Grandma walked/jogged with him the first two and I switched off for the way home.  We rode up to a nearby elementary school with a nice wide trail the whole way.
Getting everything ready
Lucy rode on the Wee-Hoo

Success!  We made it to the playground and our picnic lunch

Leprechaun hunt

Jaydon took these photos of the leprechaun we found on our leprechaun hunt.  Jeremy is still working on his Ph.D. and thus there are many weekends that I need to try taking the kids out of the house for awhile to give him a chance to get some work done, this was one of those days.  I didn't remember to actually take the camera to the hunt but I found a botanical garden by the sound that offered a hunt through their garden space.  The kids had a great time finding rainbows, leprechaun villages, gold pieces and shamrock fields.  We then enjoyed a fun Dick's drive through lunch before heading back home.
Here was our little leprechaun!

Bath time

Jaydon and Lucy love bath time.  I love that they enjoy playing together during this time but I don't love the amount of water that is always found outside of the tub even when they try to be very careful.  Tonight they got to have a great time with bubbles and they had a blast creating these looks themselves!!

Kid Cam

Lucy has now started getting a hold of the camera and taking a bunch of photos.  When Jaydon started this around age 2 his photos were often of his mouth and body parts, for Lucy she likes to take photos of her animals and the things around her.  Here they decided to play on my bed, throw the pillows off and top them with a ton of their stuffed animals and then jump off the bed onto the cushiony landing.

Lucy's hair

Lucy is finally starting to get some hair, it is at the awkward mulletty stage but I am trying to grow it out so I don't want to cut it.  Luckily she loves pony tails and thinks they are great so we can keep her bangs out of her eyes by tying them up into a little pony.  Dad thinks she looks a bit like a sprock by oh well, she enjoys it and it is better than hair in her eyes.

Sick Jaydon

Not too long after Lucy had the lingering crud Jaydon also came down with it, his got so bad that he couldn't keep anything down for a whole day and we eventually took him to the walk in clinic, after they gave him an anti-nausea med they were almost ready to send us home when he was pretty violently ill again and that worried them so they sent us to Children's hospital.  Luckily he wound up just needing a bit more time for his system to have nothing in it and by the next morning he was doing better.  It was a bit of a long haul for all of us.  You can see Higgins snuggled with him for a brief bit!

We celebrate Lucy turning 2

We got lucky and Granny and Papa were coming into town in early March so we got to have a big family birthday party for Lucy when they were here to celebrate.  Lucy was thrilled, she loved her birthday, especially opening presents and having everyone sing happy birthday to her which of course meant she got to eat cake!!
