3 Months

Jaydon continues to be such a blessing to us. He is growing so big and has managed to already double his birth weight, he is nearing in on 16 lbs!

He smiles quite often, especially when family smile at him or make silly faces. He will also laugh outloud (though it sounds almost like his start of crying and you can only tell the difference because of his facial expressions).
He also loves sucking on his fists and anything else he can get near his mouth. He still does quite well with Tummy Time, this day he decided to just rest his head and kick his feet up and down while normally he holds his head very high up. He is working on rolling over from his back to his front making it to his side quite well. He still does not sleep very well which can be very hard on me. While he has had a couple great nights they have been few and very far in between. He has consistently been getting 2-3.5 hours at a time and he also doesn't seem to nap very well. Sometimes he will get a good nap in but this also can be sporadic.

Thanksgiving Week

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday! Granny Angie and Grandpa Paul came down from Alaska to spend 5 days with us.
Meeting Grandpa Paul for the first time.
Visiting with the Anderson family (friends from Kodiak)
Jaydon enjoyed sleeping while being held by Grandpa
While Higgins wanted nothing to do with our guests, Lily was especially pleased that Granny brought some knitting
The whole family at Thanksgiving!
Dozing after a big meal.

Sick Dad

Jeremy caught a pretty bad cold and so he tried really hard to stay away from Jaydon the past few days. As he was starting to feel better (and mom was tired of being the solo caregiver) he wore this mask. Jaydon was a bit suspicious of this crazy guy in the mask who sounded like Batman in the Dark Night movie. Lily, however, didn't mind the mask a bit - she just wanted to cuddle and was pretty cute on dad's legs (though she slipped through and fell to the ground soon after this photo was taken).

Power Outage

We lost power one night during all of the heavy wind storms. While you can't really tell in this photo we are in candlelight and Jaydon is mesmerized by the flickering candle. He also got a bit freaked initially when everything went dark and quiet so he needed to eat to get calmed down - evidence the trail of spit up running down his shirt.

I can...

...grip a toy (when it is helped into my hand initially) and I can focus very intently on my hands or something in them.

National Board Certification

Well after months of waiting scores were finally released for National Board Candidates. I passed and earned my certification. This is a pretty big deal in the teaching world because now I actually get to earn my professional certificate (which will allow me to continue teaching) versus just the residency certificate you get upon completion of your schooling.

Of course on the downside is that Jaydon had his best night of sleep ever going 8 hours and I was up most of the night fretting about the score release so I didn't get to enjoy it. Hopefully he will bless us with more nights like last one.

Crib Sleeping

We were waiting for Jaydon to be over his illnesses before transitioning him to the crib but that was taking awhile so I decided to go for it. He always seems to turn himself in the night so that his head is pushed into the crib rail (I have now purchased the bumpers). He had one night where he slept 7 hours, one night where he really refused to sleep and most nights he does his usual 2-3.5 hour stretches. Boy do I wish he were more regular with at least 4-5 hours in a stretch, we sure haven't gotten that very often.

Higgins and Jaydon

Dad is very good about cuddling with Higgins when mom has Jaydon but this day Higgins just needed some extra attention and cuddling. He came up while Jaydon was sleeping and tried very hard to get comfortable. Notice Jaydon was sleeping and then in the last picture was not so happy with the new situation.

Lily found the car seat

I walked by Jaydon's room and noticed Higgins sitting on the floor near the car seat. I took a closer look and he was cleaning Lily who had snuggled in.

I of course am a sucker for our cats and while I should have immediately gotten her out by making loud noises and saying 'no,' I took a couple pictures instead and then gently lifted her out and placed her on the couch instead.

Weekend in Leavenworth

MJ and Becca got married in Plain and Jeremy was asked to be a groomsman. We headed over to Leavenworth for the weekend (my aunt has a condo there which we were able to use - it is great!) to enjoy the wedding festivities.

Higgins didn't want us to go without him.

The whole family - Jaydon did a great job at the wedding managing to sleep some at the loud reception.

Becca and MJ are both big into winter sports and will be living up at the pass their wedding cake was a great reflection of the things they love. Their rings were also made with mountain tops and a sun.
Having fun!
The grooms side of the family. Notice all the little kids, Jaydon was four days older than the smallest little one and three months younger than the other baby. Pretty fun.
We wish MJ and Becca a lifetime of happiness!

Too small

He finally grew out of a couple of his 3 month size sleepers (thankfully the nice fleece ones still fit) so I went into the next drawer down and thought I would try this hand-me-down 3-6 month size sleeper - oops it doesn't fit. For the most part he can wear 3 month and 3-6 month clothes right now, but the pile he has grown out of continues to increase.
