Decorating for Christmas

Jaydon was so excited to decorate for Christmas, we had to delay him for a few days because we make sure to celebrate Thanksgiving first and then decorate so he was really ready!  It was great to have a little helper.
Higgins and his favorite decoration - the giant snowman that he sits on until it gets packed away.
Jaydon decorated the downstairs tree, he had a great time.  I tried getting a bit of a close up below to show the ornament clusters.  He really did a great job putting them all around the tree and just couldn't reach the top very well.

I am loving that I get to have two trees!  Here is our upstairs tree.
Decorating is hard work!  Jaydon for a few nights was exhausted but didn't want to sleep in his room so I would find him all over the house while I was still trying to decorate.

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.  Cousin Joellee from WWU came to visit and Great-Grandma Aleen joined us too.  We all enjoyed our meal and had a wonderful visit.

Lucy (and Jaydon) take after their mom and grandpa - white bread and butter - nothing better!

Joellee put this little montage together on facebook and I loved it so I stole it.

We are very thankful for our family, friends and good food! We are also thankful for our new house even though we had our kitchen pipes back up during clean up time which made doing all the Thanksgiving dishes quite a joy :-)

Preschool celebrates Thanksgiving

I love watching the progress my son is making being in school.  His fine motor is improving so much and like many young boys it needs a lot more practice.  Dad has taken to trying to have Jaydon work on his name (and the other names of his immediate family members) a couple times a week.  Here they are practicing.

Working hard!
A few more random pieces of art
His turkey - he followed the directions as his teacher made hers on the board!

This precious Thanksgiving card with his turkey handprint

In school today they had a big Thanksgiving feast and he got to make his pilgrim hat - he loved it but he loved the pumpkin pie and whip cream the most!!

Our home is now properly adorned with kid Thanksgiving art that will probably go into the decorations bin to be brought out again next year!

The kids

Lucy woke up from a nap while home with Daddy and I found these fun photos of her playing with Higgins in the laundry.
First it may just look like a toddler in a basket...
but then you see Higgins...
and then her babies make an appearance

kisses for Higgins!
Jaydon is obsessed with the Seahawks, we all love it here and I keep telling myself I have to take a video of him playing one of his football games and post it - they are hilarious.  Here he got two cookies and immediately put them together to tell me it was Earl Thomas, our free safety!
Lucy enjoying her cookie in a box with animals of course

They have both discovered the joy of moving the stools around the kitchen and sitting in all manner or places.

Arizona visit

My sister Jenny and I made it down to AZ to visit our other sister Kelsey and her family.  It was such an awesome weekend away meeting our new nephew Ferris and getting to spend some quality time with Kels, Tyler and Piper too!  Not to mention their awesome animals and I am totally kicking myself for not having a photo of Clark Griswold their totally awesome huge cat!
We were there for Ferris getting to try his first rice cereal!

Pipes enjoying a snack
Chopper and Bourbon enjoying the cool tile floor

Ferris was really reaching for his toys and playing with his grip.  He was born on our anniversary - June 27th.  He weighed a whopping 9lb 10oz and was 22".  He continues to surpass all reason on the growth chart and would be an average size 1 year old at 4 months!
Piper and her awesome sun hat.
Now for Piper Cam - Jaydon loves getting his shot behind the lens so of course Piper got to have a go at it.
Auntie Jenny
Dad - Tyler
Mom and brother

And one last shot of Pipes being her adorable self.

We truly had an amazing time and look forward to seeing Kels and her family again in Jan!

Jaydon's open house

We got to go enjoy looking around Jaydon's classroom and seeing a lot of the work he had been doing in school.  His open house was a great evening where we did a scavenger hunt through the room finding his projects and asking him things he learned about each one.  I didn't remember to take photos of the event but I do have a plethora of his art projects to show.
These were a few things we got back right before the open house, he was thrilled with the chocolate milk painting because they painted it with chocolate pudding!
These were some of his projects hanging in his classroom
He made this awesome book which we got to bring home.
