Lily must have been missing Higgins a little this holiday season. This was 'his' snowman and she decided to curl up and snuggle with it instead of her traditional spot under the tree.

Good-bye to Higgins

We had to say good-bye to Higgins. He was such a wonderful part of our family and he will be missed.  It was unfortunately also during a very crazy busy stretch that we had to say good-bye and we were very fortunate to find a vet who would come to our house within a few hours of calling and allow us to say good-bye to him peacefully at home just hours before Jeremy flew out for a week long business trip.  We all cried, we all smiled and we all celebrated Higgins and the love he brought to our home.

The kids new he wasn't doing well and would try and cover him with this blanket to help him feel better.

It was hard to say good-bye but it was time. One of the hardest parts was the next morning when I went to get Kate in the morning and the first thing she said was "Higgins feeling better now, he can come come?" Oh tears, we miss him!

Misc. End of April

Well if you follow along regularly, I apologize. I'm not sure I've ever gone 4 months between posts before. Oops, life is getting crazy. I will try in the next week or so to get us caught up but we shall see. Jeremy has another work trip which involves taking the computer so that makes it a lot harder to update stuff.

At the end of April Jaydon got a bit sick, bummer I didn't get the camera out before Higgins got up to leave (Higgins was also getting more sick around this time).

Kate found some shoes in her closet and had fun playing with a variety of looks.

Higgins is ailing, I have decided pretty much any picture of him from this point on I will post because I know we won't have a ton of them left.

"Glass" art

 Granny and Papa gave Lucy (and Jaydon though he didn't make his at the same time so I don't have a pic of his yet) a fun stained glass project that was really made with siliconey stickers. Mess free, no cooking required and super fun.  Lucy wanted to pose with Higgins by her butterfly.

 Lucy was working on a book and Higgins got up to snuggle.  I think they both were in heaven.

I was busy getting our Halloween decorations up and around with help from the Lucy and Kate. I looked down and found Higgins in the holiday spirit.  Lucy decked him out in his costume.  He really didn't seem to mind too much.

I have taken over a job at our church which requires me to work most of the day each Sunday. It is a fun challenge but I am definitely just doing this for the interim until they can find the right fit.  When I uploaded my most recent pics to get caught up I came across some random pics.  Here they are for your enjoyment, as they provided me with a smile.

Auntie Kelsey and family sent us this cool building set thing, imagine my surprise when I see that Higgins has been gifted with a new hat. I can't tell if he is getting ready to celebrate the Sabbath or block out an alien attack. Jeremy informs me that Lucy and Kate were the hat bestowing culprits.

Since Higgins has been sick I have been letting him out a bit more because I know he loves it.  Well this day he had gone out and he was making some noise on the back porch, I sure am glad I looked carefully before I let him in or I would have had a mouse in my house.  Yuck, but I was actually kind of impressed he could still catch a mouse. Sorry, I know this is gross but it is our life :-)

Higgins is probably going to live forever because he is certainly getting spoiled.  He is getting lots of attention and treats and food whenever he wants it (though he is still losing weight). Lucy loves on him frequently and often requests pictures be taken of them together.  So I apologize, but I will just keep on posting Higgins and Lucy photos.

 Our beloved Higgins is getting older.  Jeremy keeps pointing out that he is still doing really well but I just keep noticing that he is losing weight and wanting more to drink etc.  He has been in for his check-ups and things are still looking good so it isn't as though I need to be taking a million more photos of him but that seems to be the case. He is becoming very snuggly and he has always had a special relationship with Lucy.  There will probably be many photos in the coming months of Higgins with his people.  Lucy is good at giving him the snuggles he craves.

We got home from MN and were lucky to have Grandpa and Nana and Granny and Papa to hang out with us for a couple days.  

 More presents, this time Jaydon was busy painting in his new book - he had another croup battle so it was a low key day for him to let the meds start working and help him breathe more easily.

We went into Downtown and enjoyed wondering around Pike Place and had a fun meal together before Grandpa and Nana had to start their journey back to CA.
