Happy Halloween!

We had a fun Halloween. We were able to carve some pumpkins after school and then take the kids trick or treating. We have a wonderful neighborhood and love where we are. The kids had a great time and got TONS of candy (I am very thankful for candy buy back programs that get it out of my house before I eat it all). A fun night was had by all and everyone was healthy enough to make it to school the next morning!

Kate wanted the ghost, Lucy designed the cat. Jaydon wanted to play with the neighbor.

The haul!

October Outings and Oddities

We enjoyed a bunch of fun things in October.
If you zoom in you can see the turkeys crossing the parking lot, we see groups of wild turkeys quite a bit, especially funny right before Thanksgiving.
Kate had to go with me to get my TB tests done at a nearby hospital but we found the cool kid area for the Sacramento Kings fans (The NBA team we have adopted until we get the Sonics back)

Since Jaydon and Lucy were heading back from WA by camping their way down with Gma and Gram, Kate and I needed to do some fun things together. I took her to Funderland (a kid amusement park) and we had a blast.

She loved the rides, we went on so many together I got tired but she could have kept going for hours more!

The fun Fall Festival that our kids school put on. It was a great outing and I neglected to get many pics.

Lucy won a round at the cake walk, she is totally my girl. She picked the biggest one left!
Kate and I played Hiss (an amazing game with preschool and lower elementary age kids), she had the big pile, I had the small pile and the leftover cards had two snake heads and tails - super rare!
The kids soccer buttons that they got. At some point I will try posting their team pics but no guarantees I will remember because I have to take a pic of the pic.
Took the girls to a local trunk or treat event at our nearby auto-mall, Jaydon chose to stay home and watch football (shocker).

I was able to chaperone Kate's first school bus field trip. She had a wonderful time at the pumpkin patch.

She loved the petting zoo time.

Halloween Adventures

We got to enjoy a few Halloween activities. First the kids school had a fall festival, then a neighborhood party and finally trick-or-treating.
We have a shark, a horse rider and a fairy princess for the year

Some neighbors (on the way to being good friends) invited us to the block party Halloween party. The kids had a great time

The night of Halloween! So much candy! Thank goodness for dentist buy back programs of I would continue to eat too much candy.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!

Odds and Ends of October

October was a busy month. We had 3 sets of family visit, celebrated Kate's birthday took many fun outings exploring the area and of course had Halloween to celebrate. This post is the odds and ends of Oct.
Jaydon really got into cooking, he was excited to make these cookies with help from Granny! Kate really just came along for the photos and to do a little decorating.

Kate helped make dinner one night with Granny
This cat bed Jeremy bought Lily for the drive down to our new house has been a hit with her!
Jaydon continues to wow his teachers and does a great job at school
Jaydon had a huge bike accident and fortunately was wearing his helmet. His was definitely sore but luckily only had a couple bad scrapes on his face and nothing more serious.

Kate (and Lucy though Lucy's class was when the gym was super full so I didn't get any pics) did a gymnastics class through our local parks and rec. They both enjoyed it but are both ready to be enrolled through the actual gym facility not the parks and rec for next time.

Kate enjoys reading stories
I took this pic and sent it to my family as proof it did rain! This was almost 2 months after we had moved in and it was the first precipitation we had, the kids were also out at the playground within an hour of it ending!
Jaydon created this ship at Cal Fit (the gym we go to) and wanted a pic

We came home with balloons from Kate's party and Lily was in heaven!

Grandpa and Nana came into town and we ate out on the river boat and toured the capital, it was fun.

Grandpa and Nana's dog Ziggy.
I got invited to bunko night and enjoyed meeting a lot of women who have kids at school with my kiddos.

One bummer is we missed the Leighton's Halloween Pumpkin Party for the first year since it restarted. Luckily Jen and her family attended so I got some pics from afar.
