9 Months!

9 months seems to have gone by in the blink of an eye. There are so many developments and milestones that I can't keep up. Jaydon is truly growing up and becoming more and more little boy and less baby boy. He weighed in a 21lbs 11oz (70th percentile), is 28.5 inches long (50th percentile) and has a big head (90th percentile). He is a mover, you put him with his toys and he is content, you quickly run into the kitchen to get something and when you look up he has gotten across the room and is getting into the cat food dishes. He is not too big a talker - definitely makes his ahhhh and eeeees but isn't doing a ton of consonant sounds.

Trying out some cheerios. He does not have the pincer grasp down yet so he just hits them around his tray and gets them stuck in his hands but he is practicing. He is still a good eater who will try and eat most everything! We do baby sign with him and while we aren't great about remembering it all the time, Jaydon has learned the sign for milk and does that one quite a bit.

He quite enjoys a wooden spoon and a pot lid. Also with his new mobility he enjoys getting into the entertainment center cupboards, pulling out movies, getting into the higher shelves of stuff and just being a curious crawler.

He started pulling himself to his knees and always greets us looking out of his crib this way after sleping. Naps are pretty good for the most part (he still does 35-45 minute naps sometimes that are not so much fun because then he is cranky pretty quickly but if we can get past that hour mark it is good). Night sleeping is still not great - we are working on it.

You can see the bottom two teeth in this pict. The top right one is through and the top left is really close.

Congrats BHS - State Champs!

Jeremy, Jaydon and I traveled to Yakima for the HS golf tourney. It was quite the trip with a 9 month old but soooo worth it. The girls team won the championship for the 8th time in 9 years and this year the boys team also won. I wasn't a great photographer but here are a couple.

The girls anxiously awaiting the results. It is always kind of funny because we know the scores but we make them sweat it a bit and wait until it is announced. Jaydon was the youngest kid in our group but as you can see by this pict not the only.

The team with their trophy. It was a great year and I am glad to have been able to be a part of it. Go BHS!

Rock Band 80s Style

We had another "Rock Band" party with our old small group friends (see Aug 09 for the previous one). This year we decided to have a theme and dress up. It was a blast as usual. Great food, great friends, great music and great drinks...right Jeff!?!

Jeremy and I went with the colorful 80s look

The whole band (plus an interloper near my feet - he went home early and his grandmas came over to watch him).

The guys!

MC4Square Carnival

Our church puts on a free carnival every spring, it is pretty impressive all the stuff they have for kids to do.

Rachel fishing with Tyler working the booth.

Jaydon going for a duck!

He didn't care if he had a dot on the bottom and won a prize, he just wanted to get the ducks.

The Gate.

With Jaydon crawling all around we finally had to get out the gate. He was enjoying going for the cat food dishes a bit much. What we didn't realize when putting up the gate was that the cats would also feel they were locked out. They still have yet to learn to jump over it!

Lily is actually being the smarter of the two and she will walk all the way around the hallway to come in the other side of the kitchen. Higgins will just sit there pining for his food.

SWIMMING!

We finally got Jaydon to the pool! We had been planning this trip for awhile and something kept coming up. He loves his bath time and he did really well at the pool.

Just getting ready to get in the water.

Looking at the other kids.

He wasn't a huge fan of the water squirting up, only because some splashed in an eye.

Trying out the floaty seat that the pool had.

Playing with Dad in the shallow end.

Riding the river rapids with Dad. He followed a big duck and collected a little duck and tug boat along the way.
It was a great adventure and we look forward to going back soon!

Early Crawling Video

This was the very first day Jaydon was really starting to get the hang of crawling, it is funny to look back at this video and think how different he is now.

Crawling!

Jaydon did it. He started truly crawling at the Chambers house. He even executed a turn and kept going. He is still gaining proficiency as he only gets 7 moves or so and then decides to sit but he has made it - oh help us now! I will try posting a pic or video soon.

Mother's Day and Jaydon's Dedication

My first official Mother's Day was great! Jeremy made this awesome overnight french toast - it was sooooo good, more like dessert but so worth it. We think this might be our new very special occasion breakfast.

We were able to get Jaydon dedicated at church on Mother's Day!

Our friend Stefanie was nice enough to take a bunch of photos.

Jaydon did his cute "ahhhh" sound and Pastor Chris commented that it was his first "Amen" it was a funny moment.

Liking the microphone, not so sure about being with Pastor Chris but he did very well.

Being prayed for

Jaydon recieved a great Bible and certificate!

Balloons!

**I have updated a ton of April posts so please glance back to see our exciting month**
I know, I know...balloons are not toys for babies, but Jaydon loved watching Lily play with this balloon so he felt he needed to have a try. I will say whenever he had balloon time it was with us sitting right by him.

The Fledgling Contortionist

**Side note: I will be updating the last week and a half of April so check back later for more April posts**

So Jaydon has a new milestone and I have mixed feelings about it...he can get himself sitting from lying down. This has of course necessitated the move of his crib mattress to the very bottom (a bit of a stretch for me to reach) but also has meant that when he is upset in his crib he will sit up. This evening Jeremy went to check on him once and try getting him back down and after that we decided we would just have to let him fuss a bit and get to sleep. Well I walk in an hour later and he has fallen asleep from a sitting position - essentially his head fell forward into his extended legs so he was about bent in two. It looked quite uncomfortable to me and while I would love to have gotten a picture I wasn't risking the flash. If it happens again sometime I will try posting a picture of it. Looks painful to me but I guess Granny Angie said that Jeremy was a stubborn child and would fall asleep that way sometimes. Hmmm...like father, like son.
