Just June

We made a fun ice cream bar cake for Dad to celebrate Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day Breakfast!

We enjoyed hanging out at the Croatian Festival with our neighbors

Lucy won a huge raffle of gift cards at the big school ice cream social to wind up the year.
I had the gang after school so we made some helicopters and raced them

Of course playing in the neighbor's pool is a fun way to spend some time

Jaydon and I participated in the Mother Son Wacky Golf tournament through our parks and rec. It was great!

It is a 'golf' tournament where you use all kids of different equipment to get various balls in the holes

Leavenworth Weekend

We had another wonderful weekend in Leavenworth. Jeremy and I got to have a date night to the Summer Theater performance of Into the Woods - it was very well done and so fun to be outside at the Ski Hill stage.  We also enjoyed a nice float down the river and I even got to golf for the first time in over a year, not well but I was out there.  We always enjoy our stay with Aunt Mary and Uncle Phil and were glad cousin Jim could join us this time too.
Taco dinner ready when we arrived.  Such service.
Getting everything ready to go float the river
Quick stop at the playground on the way to the float

Putting in
Uncle Phil was able to be camera man so it was fun to get some pics of our outing
Aunt Mary waded us through the logs at the beginning, it was very shallow in stretches

What a great day out on the river and my first experience floating it
Then the search for little fishy's began

I don't think the picture captured any of them but on another attempt Jeremy was able to get one in his hands.
When we got back to the house we saw a praying mantis waiting to say hello

Getting a little morning hike/walk before heading back across the pass.

Kate loved her turn on the pull-up bar until she couldn't hold on any longer and free fell a few inches before Dad caught her.

The old chairlift swing was lovely!  I had no idea I had coordinated the blue so well with everyone either.

Golf Date and Kamila Goodbye Party

Kamila is from Slovakia and was staying with Nana Elaine and Papa John for this past school year. Before she had to fly home she wanted to try golfing so we borrowed some clubs and Kamily, Wendy, John and I all headed out to the course. Neither Kamila nor Wendy had ever golfed before and they did a great job.

In the car getting ready to go!
Posing on the first tee box!
I didn't get many photos of the actual good-bye party that occurred the same day but we did get one shot of Jaydon in the hammock. He enjoyed it!

BHS does it again!

I have helped coach the BHS girls golf team for the past 5 years and it has been an amazing experience for me. I love getting a chance to get to know the young ladies on the team and be part of a team. Last year we took Jaydon to the state tournament in Yakima but Jeremy was able to attend and so I didn't have to worry about him too much. This year was a bit different. Jeremy was unable to take the time off work and we were actually allowed two active coaches on the course (in years past it has just been one). So as you may read later it was a bit of travel and chaos to work it out but we made it. Jaydon did not sleep so well on Tuesday night and so Wednesday we arrived at the course, got to see each girl one time briefly and then he needed to nap in the car. I wasn't quite expecting the 3 hour nap at that time so for the most part I spent the second day of state in the car. However it was still worth it (and it was raining so I didn't mind staying dry), and I got to see each girl finish hole 18.

Again this year we sent 6 golfers (the most you can send) and again unfortunately we had one of our golfers just miss the cut by one stroke to only have five golfing the second day. We were able to win another State Team Title (our 9th in 10 seasons). We have become the most successful girls golf team in state history. Pretty awesome tradition and very fun for these girls to be a part of.
Our top two finishers, Jenn - 5th place and Brooke 6th place. They each received individual medals. Not too shabby being a freshman and sophomore.
The whole team with their hardware. Jenn, Jenna, Mackenzie, Brooke, Madi and Audrey. Two freshman, two sophomores, one junior and one senior. Yes, we are pulling for 10 out of the past 11 titles for next year!

The girls with Jaydon!

Congratulations Lady Raiders! Quite an amazing accomplishment and it happened to a wonderful group of girls!
