Grandpa Babysitting

I got home after working the book fair to find Grandpa doing a stellar job of babysitting :-)
I come to find out he had just fallen asleep and that Kate is also asleep on the couch. Jaydon had been with me at the book fair so he just got their to join in watching the show that was keeping Lucy occupied.

Bike-a-thon

Lucy had a bike-a-thon at school. She raised money for Seattle Children's Cancer Center. Unfortunately she had one of her stubborn moments. She got upset about the fit of her helmet and refused to ride. I got her to go one time around sort of and then she stopped and just cheered from the side. Bummer because I think she would have had fun.

Visit with Asher and Knox

We enjoyed getting to have Asher and Knox stay with us for 4 days. They did great and the kids all had fun playing together.
Sleepy time, Asher got Jaydon's bed, Knox got Lucy's, Lucy was on the floor in Kate's room and Jaydon slept on the floor in our room. It was a full upstairs.
Jaydon and Lucy showed their friends the twirl-go-round

Happy 5th Birthday Lucy!

Lucy is 5! She is wonderful. She is very inquisitive, friendly and strong. She loves to read books (just starting to sound out and recognize some words on her own), the Rainbow Fairies are a particular favorite. She still has Lambie and sucks her thumb when she is tired or watching a show (she is a bit of a picker, she picks at strings coming off of Lambie and at her tights (which now all have holes in them) and at anything that has a loose or frayed edge). She enjoys school and does very well playing with others and being a leader in the class. She is liked by others and can certainly have her bossy moments.  She loves games and catches on to them quickly. A new favorite is Mexican Train Dominoes - she really gets how to set up her train and make it all work.  She has strong coordination and enjoys her gymnastics, riding her bike and she just got a new razor scooter she is loving. She is also a bit crafty (much to my chagrin because it means I have to try and be crafty at times and that doesn't always work out too well). She is patient and kind, she plays well with Kate (and sometimes fights like crazy with Jaydon). She can also really show her stubborn streak and give a pretty good attitude but when she snaps out of it and realizes she hasn't done something right she wants to make up for it and she gives great hugs and kisses. We are blessed beyond measure with this little girl who is growing up so fast.  We love you to Pluto and back Lucy Ann!
Good friends of ours had a family emergency so we took their boys Asher and Knox for a few days, it was fun and they got to enjoy all the birthday activities with us.

We also had a broken fridge right at the time we were getting ready to have our dinner. Jeremy had to do some research.

Super excited about her fly box that Grandma got her and tied a bunch of flies to put in. She loves to go fishing with Grandma.

Yuck, to get our fridge out we had to take off all the molding and window sill, the nice thing is we now have a fridge that fits the space.

Lucy had asked for a mermaid tail blanket - wish granted.

She got to celebrate her birthday on Monday at school. She had a fun few days of celebrating!

Lucy's Birthday Party

We took Lucy to her gymnastics place for her birthday party. She had a blast. The kids got to run around and play games and eat cake, what could be better!?!
It is also Kate's gym place so she feels right at home

We both struggled to blow out the candles - weird, I know

More play time

We then went and had pizza after. Such a fun day celebrating Lucy.
