Jen and L's reception

On Saturday the 31st, Jen and L had their wedding reception in Seattle. It was beautiful and I was so thankful that Jenny had a great bridal suite that I was able to hang out in with Lucy.

Here was the awesome couch I got to lounge on with Lucy. Jen and L were just getting ready to head out and be formally introduced.

It was a wonderful evening! The bride and groom looked stunning and the venue was quite impressive. I am so thankful I could be part of it five days post-c-section.

My sister's wedding ceremony and dinner

My sister got married!!! Yeah! It was an exciting time added already but add the fact that I was four days post c-section surgery and traveling with a newborn it was quite an adventure. Friday was the intimate family ceremony and dinner. It was lovely and while we tried to travel the 2.5 hour trip (more like 3.25 with the traffic we hit) in time to make it for the pics at 2 and the ceremony at 3 we were not on time. We managed to be only 18 minutes late to the actual ceremony, thank goodness it was so intimate that they could wait for us. Sorry Jen and L.

While traffic was unlucky, it was nice that both kids got good car naps on the way from Grandma's house to the ceremony. Jaydon wearing his suit with his ever present lambie, Lucy was in her wedding finest though I don't think I ever got a good picture of it.

Jaydon was supposed to carry the ring box down, I believe had we been early and in time to mil about and take photos he might have been able to do it on his own. As it was he was a bit shy and needed some help from dad to get down the aisle.
I wasn't in a great spot to get photos because the actual wedding photographers get priority positioning. Jen looked amazing! And besides you get to see Diane, Piper, Tyler and Kelsey in this photo.

I begrudgingly posted this. I really had a bad outfit but it wasn't about me so I guess it doesn't matter. It is pretty hard to find something that would work when I was so hugely pregnant leading up to the wedding the one dress I really wanted sold out in the color I needed before I could get it so I made due. Jen and L and Paul look good!
First kiss as husband and wife!
L is pretty smug I think!

Cheers!

Congrats Jen and L we wish you all the best and are so glad we did get to take part in your special day even if we ran late and didn't look awesome :)
(L is just the first initial for Jen's husband but he prefers to not really be mentioned online so I am respecting his wishes).

Home!

We made it home! Lucy was a champ on the car ride (hopefully that continues through all the traveling we will do this weekend).

Higgins saying "hello," he didn't walk up onto her this time and in fact it seemed a bit old hat to him. He just sort of took a peek, thought "oh, I've been here before" and headed on his way.

Getting big brother and new little sister snuggle time. The first time Jaydon 'held' her.
Jaydon looking up with questioning eyes to see if he is doing ok. It was pretty darn sweet!
So excited! He was waving and smiling to the camera.
Giving her kisses!
Jaydon thought it would be nice to share a good-night story with Lucy on the chair. Dad read to them both and it was so stinkin' cute. Lucy has a very loving big brother.
More story-time
This morning Jaydon saying hello to Lucy.
He is all smiles and really does love being around her and showing things.
Sweet and snuggly - we are having some latch problems and she is not eating all that well but we will get there. She only manages to do a couple minutes of feeding before falling back asleep.
Trying out tummy time! Jaydon showing her how he lifted his head at day 5, she has another couple days to catch up:)
Lily saying her "hellos"
Lucky enjoys gnawing on her fist, hand, finger - she will take what she can get at this point.

Last of our hospital stay

We got an opportunity to have many visitors at the hospital to welcome Lucy into our family. I was not as good with photos (sorry Lucy, that dang second child thing) so we missed somephoto ops but we were certainly happy to have our family and friends be around.

Nana Lainie came by.

The Plumbs!
Sleeping in her bassinet, we have found this to be rare so far and are looking forward to when she will sleep contently there versus next to or on us.

Snuggling with dad
Getting ready to head home
Loaded up, she slept soundly and didn't mind the carseat at all. Quite different than Jaydon's initial rides.

Welcome, Lucy Ann!

(Please enjoy the following guest-posting from Jeremy)

What an incredible day today is - the culmination of many, many months of anticipation. This morning we welcomed Lucy Ann into the world (21" 10lbs 8oz)! Although Sarah will undoubtedly elaborate at a later time (and perhaps share more photos), I will provide a brief glimpse into our day so far (Sarah and Lucy are currently napping).

We were just about to leave for the hospital, running a tad late, around 7:30am. Sarah has to be one of the most gorgeous pregnant ladies of all time (she's probably going to be mad that I wrote this, even though I am NOT the only person who makes this claim).

I, on the other hand, just look a wee bit daft...

"Little" Lucy shocked the delivery team with her size, especially since she was so big AND perfectly healthy. Apparently, Sarah just did a great job feeding her for the past 40 weeks. She's already moved her head around a bit, so it appears that she may be strong (like her older brother). No "newborn" clothing for this girl!

Jaydon was VERY excited to meet his little sister

Again, VERY excited

Lucy knew that Jaydon has really enjoyed his Thomas train set, and so she bought him a complementary set that included Percy. Jaydon was definitely excited for his gift, but - I think - still more excited to meet his little sister. He seems pleased to be a big brother.

Lots o' smiles!

We are VERY fortunate to have Grandma and Gram staying with us, and tending to Jaydon while we are in the hospital. If all goes according to plan, we should be heading home Wednesday morning. Sarah's sister's wedding is this Friday and Saturday, so we hope that she is recovered sufficiently to make the drive down. So far, so good! We look forward to introducing her to all of you in person. Love to all, The (Expanding) Smoldon Clan
