Golf Date and Kamila Goodbye Party

Kamila is from Slovakia and was staying with Nana Elaine and Papa John for this past school year. Before she had to fly home she wanted to try golfing so we borrowed some clubs and Kamily, Wendy, John and I all headed out to the course. Neither Kamila nor Wendy had ever golfed before and they did a great job.

I didn't get many photos of the actual good-bye party that occurred the same day but we did get one shot of Jaydon in the hammock. He enjoyed it!

Meeting Grandpa Pete and Grandma Deborah

Jaydon got to meet another set of grandparents (he has 5 sets - this was the 4th out of 5). Pete and Deborah came over for a visit from Metaline Falls and it was great to see them again and introduce them to Jaydon.

We went to the Ski to Sea Grand Parade and his grandparents in true grandparent fashion spoiled him by buying him this giant blow up dolphin. I was very thankful this was the animal he chose out of the bunch, though the monkey would have been fine too there were a few I would not have enjoyed as much.

The next day we went to Hovander to see the animals and watch some of the Ski to Sea canoe to mt. bike transition. The turkeys were not so pretty close up.

Jaydon and Brenna

Jaydon and Brenna get to hang out a few times a week, this day we had just returned from the state golf match and we had Brenna for the full day Thursday. I guess both kids were pretty worn out from all the fun and excitement.

Auntie Wendy had moved one of her beds to the floor and the kids love it so one day I decided we would pull out our guest mattress and give it a try. Other than the fact that the mattress weighs about a ton and I was almost not able to get it out - the kids had a blast.

BHS does it again!

I have helped coach the BHS girls golf team for the past 5 years and it has been an amazing experience for me. I love getting a chance to get to know the young ladies on the team and be part of a team. Last year we took Jaydon to the state tournament in Yakima but Jeremy was able to attend and so I didn't have to worry about him too much. This year was a bit different. Jeremy was unable to take the time off work and we were actually allowed two active coaches on the course (in years past it has just been one). So as you may read later it was a bit of travel and chaos to work it out but we made it. Jaydon did not sleep so well on Tuesday night and so Wednesday we arrived at the course, got to see each girl one time briefly and then he needed to nap in the car. I wasn't quite expecting the 3 hour nap at that time so for the most part I spent the second day of state in the car. However it was still worth it (and it was raining so I didn't mind staying dry), and I got to see each girl finish hole 18.

Again this year we sent 6 golfers (the most you can send) and again unfortunately we had one of our golfers just miss the cut by one stroke to only have five golfing the second day. We were able to win another State Team Title (our 9th in 10 seasons). We have become the most successful girls golf team in state history. Pretty awesome tradition and very fun for these girls to be a part of.

Our top two finishers, Jenn - 5th place and Brooke 6th place. They each received individual medals. Not too shabby being a freshman and sophomore.

Congratulations Lady Raiders! Quite an amazing accomplishment and it happened to a wonderful group of girls!

Night with Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa

So we had a bit of a crazy couple days. Jaydon and I went to visit Grandma on Friday night so I could go wedding dress shopping with my sister Saturday. Jeremy flew in from AK Friday night and spent the night at Grandma's too so that he could be with Jaydon when I was dress shopping. We got home Saturday night. Sunday = normal. Monday Jaydon and I drove down to Grandma's again to spend the night, after work, so that I could go to the State Golf Tourney. Tues morning I dropped Jaydon with friends in Seattle, headed to the course in Tacoma, Grandma picked up Jaydon from Seattle, took him back to her house where Jeremy picked him up to bring him to Tacoma to spend the night with my grandparents so that Wednesday we could easily get to the golf course. INSANE!!! Jaydon and I made it home late Wednesday night and were quite tired.

Jaydon really enjoyed visiting with Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa. They took us to a wonderful dinner at the club, but I will say Jaydon's favorite part was getting to play 'with' Buffy, their dog. Jaydon really loves animals and has started signing that he wants to pet all the animals we see. Buffy was a bit unsure of this new addition to the house but she did very well!

Jaydon got a hold of the camera, turned it on and took a couple photos. This was of a teacup and saucer of course!

We tried to get a nice photo of Buffy, Great-grandpa, Jaydon and dad but it just wasn't happening that morning. We will have to go back and visit again for that.

Playdate with Sophie

Our good friends generously agreed to watch Jaydon for a day while I went to help coach at the State Golf Tournament. Jaydon and Sophie played the day away (until naptime) and had a great time. Jaydon kept wanting to wake Sophie up from her nap early so he could keep playing with her and he wanted to show Grandma (who picked him up) who he had been with all day. Pretty cute - Thanks Asia for helping me out in a HUGE way and for taking and sending some cute pics.

They held hands to walk out to the backyard, I guess this was not something Jaydon was too thrilled about but Sophie is a rule follower already and if her mom said to hold hands she was dang well going to hold hands! I love it!!

Playing and a Play with Grandma

We went to visit Grandma one evening and she thought it would be fun to take Jaydon to her school musical. They put on "Back to the 80's" and it was pretty fun. Lots of singing and dancing to popular 80's songs. Jaydon did a great job but I knew we wouldn't be able to stay the whole time because it didn't even start until pretty close to his bed time. I must say he kept it together really well!

At Grandma's there is a lot of bike memorabilia, Gram and Grandma are a bit obsessed. Jaydon really enjoys this little trike and pretends to ride it even though he is obviously waaaay too big.

I'm really not sure why he has one shoe on and one off but oh well, he enjoyed himself!

Some Random Jaydon Photos

I am trying to get around to getting the photos off my camera and do some blog updates but it is taking me a long time and still have a ways to go. Hopefully this smorgasbord of photos can tide you all who actually look at this regularly over 'til I get more of our May updates on here. I was shocked to see I had been delinquent in updating for over a month - sorry!

Jaydon and I decided to go try out Baskin and Robbins customer appreciation night. Jaydon got his first real taste of ice cream and I've got to say he wasn't a huge fan. The cold definitely made him cringe every time and while he enjoyed the sweet flavor he didn't want much because it was too cold. We were planning to make an evening event of going to a soccer game and then getting some ice cream, but our 'spring' weather sure has NOT been cooperating and we were rained out from the game.

I will put the gate up outside sometimes and Jaydon has a fun time running around the porch. The only problem is he is pretty good at opening the screen door and letting the cats out. Higgins and Lily will stay on the porch for awhile until they remember they can a) just jump down from wherever or b) go right around the gate and use the stairs.

These next two photos of Jaydon running crack me up!! It really doesn't help that his shirt is way too small and the pants are a little short.

Bath time crazy bubble time. He now will say bubble (though he uses it for bubble and balloon). He still doesn't talk much but continues to sign.

Our friends have a potty for their little girl and said how Jaydon will go in and sit on it (with his clothes still on) so we decided it was time to buy one just to have around. We aren't really concerned with potty training at this point and haven't even put him on it naked to try but he does enjoy going and sitting on it with his diaper on, especially if he knows someone else is going potty too. Let me just say I am not really looking forward to potty training though I anticipate it is still a long ways off...

Rico Visits

Our friends came up to spend the weekend together and much to Jaydon's delight and the cats dismay they bring Rico their dog. It is quite fun watching all the interactions and happenings around the house for the weekend. Of course I neglected to get photos of Jason and Eadie but Rico is represented strongly!

Jaydon enjoyed throwing the cat toy for Rico to go chase and they both then would roll around on the ground - pretty cute.

On this visit, the adults decided to try playing a game of Settlers while Jaydon hung out. He discovered a game of climbing into the kitchen stools and then trying to climb out. Pretty funny to watch, especially the couple of times he managed to get quite stuck.

We enjoyed our weekend visit and hope the "Kaltenbarkers" will come back soon.
