Lucy's new tea set

Lucy got a tea set from Grandma and Gram that she got to paint and then we baked it to set the paint.  She was thrilled and had a fun time doing the painting, even letting brother help on a few pieces.  

Easter at the Leighton's

We had another lovely Easter afternoon with Family in Alger.  Kate found the barbie car, the kids all hunted for eggs (and it was quite an intense egg hunt - lots of space to hide the eggs), we ate a delicious meal and celebrated 3 birthdays.

Kate got lucky and all her eggs were hidden in the dahlia garden so hers were a bit easier to find

Dad helped Jaydon find his last tricky egg - we almost didn't get it, Jeremy carried him out in his socks after he stayed out looking and found it while we had all gone inside and given up

Papa John, Lucy and Uncle Greg all celebrated birthdays within a week of each other!

Easter Morning

The Easter Bunny found our house again...this time he left his goods inside and as usual there was one color for each kid and every egg had a little gift with it.  Kate discovered quickly (with help from brother) that there was candy in the eggs - she was determined to find her eggs after that.

Every morning Lily goes on Kate's changing table and stays there through Kate's diaper changes.  Kate enjoys the snuggles, Lily puts up with them because she likes the bed and knows it won't be long before Kate is back out of reach.

Birthday Dinner and Fun

Grandma, Gram, Auntie and E, joined us for a fun birthday dinner for Lucy.  Since it was also the night before Easter we had some Easter fun as well.

Grandma and Gram brought Easter baskets one for the older 2 to find and one for the littles to hunt for.

Birthday girl requested Lahti style Mac and Cheese, it was yummy and fun.

We then went on a quick walk around the neighborhood with the family, including Higgins

When we got back to our house that sneaky Easter Bunny had come and hidden some eggs outside so there would be some for the cousins to hunt for together.

Easter Egg Hunt

We enjoyed some beautiful weather for Lucy's birthday and went to the nearby Easter Egg Hunt. It was a lot of fun and the kids enjoyed 'hunting' (or more like 'collecting') their eggs.  Lucy and Kate went at the same time on two different fields and then Jaydon was after. 

We parked far away and walked because we didn't know how crowded it would be but also to get some exercise

The big kids were so fast it was done very quickly.  We are trying to do a little free range parenting so we didn't go right with Jaydon on the hunt and just waited for him to come back to us at the end.  He got turned around a bit and it took longer than we were anticipating but he made it.  He was proud of himself and while my heart rate may have bumped up a bit it was good for all of us.
