Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm dreaming of a white Thanksgiving? Rare for us but here you have it.

We got a good dumping without the wind so it actually settled all over and was very pretty, not all that pretty to drive through but we all made it where we needed/wanted to be.

Right before the meal was served I was filling the pepper grinder, oops, I dropped the little ball that would seal the top and make the thing work, of course it rolled under the stove.
Jeremy helped retrieve it - I didn't even think about removing the drawer.

It was a lovely Thanksgiving, thanks to everyone who came to celebrate with us.

Lambie

When Jaydon was a baby I wished he would take a pacifier, no luck. Then he got these lambies (which after a few washings are really bears, with a picture of a lion on the blanket) and he loves them. They are his security blanket thing and what he goes to when he is tired or hurt. I have enjoyed that he has a lovey and it does aid in our routines, but we try having lambies stay in the crib and when he goes to get one it means he is ready for a rest. This day however, he was not wanting to take the lambie out of his mouth, the result was a very fashion fantastic outfit.

First Snow!

We got our first snow of the year (a year we are predicted to get a lot) and so we took Jaydon adventuring.

Trying on his snowsuit, it is a bit long for him but he did alright.

However, when you added the jacket, boots, hat and mittens he was not thrilled by this event.

We took him on his first sled ride, not so much fun. You can see that our lawn definitely has green showing. The wind blew so hard the entire time it snowed that we had huge drifts in some places and nothing in others.

We decided to just try walking in the big pile, still not very enjoyable.

So I thought, everyone deserves a little hot chocolate after a snowy adventure. Surprisingly, not a fan of that either.

Though he did help me clean up the mess we made.

And finally he did drink a little of the hot cocoa. Looks a little milk drunk here. Not the most enjoyable event for Jaydon but we have plenty more opportunities to learn about the joy of snow coming up.

Jaydon LOVES his cats!

Jaydon has started tackling his cats to show his affection. He has been successful getting Higgins but Lily is faster at getting away (or just more terrified of him so she doesn't get as close).

Sometimes he starts by lying down next to them and then rolling onto them, othertimes he just grabs them around the middle and puts his head onto the floor to trap them.

Since these photos have been taken Jaydon has successfully gotten Lily in his clutches, she will survive but it was a bit traumatizing for her.

Climbing and the results

Jaydon loves to climb on thigs, here he is using my briefcase as a step so he can get to the goodies (like cell phones, purses, pens etc) on the table.

I have the bouncy chair out for when I watch Brenna and Jaydon loves climbing on it. He then rocks it back and forth from the standing position getting it to play music and having a grand old time.

That grand old time ends when he leans too far forward and tips the whole thing over with him leading head first. He has done this a couple times and luckily not hurt himself too badly though definitely bonked his head on the lovely white tiles surrounding the fire place.

Terrible picture but if you look closely at his lower lip you can see that he got a pretty good owie. He is a bit reckless with his body and this was the first major bump on cement running down our driveway.

I have this sneaky suspicion I am in for many more boo-boos and owies for the next few years (and beyond). He handles them pretty well and often takes good bonks without getting upset but those bigger ones where you know he got hurt are not easy as a mom. Poor kiddo.

Our little dare-devil

I have some photos I need to update from my camera but just haven't found the time so instead I will give you a word update.

Jaydon is a dare-devil. He likes to run into things, climb on things, push and tip things etc. It makes our lives quite eventful. Thankfully he is also a tough guy and most of the bumps and owies don't cause much of a reaction. Even the bigger ones (like biting it on the driveway when trying to run down hill) only seem to phase him for a short while.

It appears we are also needing to trasition from two naps a day to one, I am not sure I really like this idea but Jaydon is not taking his afternoon nap very well or often so it seems time. What is a bit strange is he has held onto the morning nap and not the afternoon one but going from 10am to 7pm without any naps hasn't been good for any of us so we are pushing back his morning one to make it to afternoon.

Jaydon the negotiator? Monday and Wednesday Wendy and I swap childcare so we can both work. It has worked out pretty darn well. Wendy told me one day not long ago that Jaydon learned the art of negotiation with her and would eat a bite of sandwhich because then he would get a grape. I guess this continued for awhile and has worked on other days too.

Reading with Daddy

Jaydon enjoys storytime. He is adding more signs to his repitoire often and book is one that he just started trying, along with music (this kid loves music and wants it to play all the time). He had brought this book over to dad to have him read it.
