11 Months!

I can't believe it, this is the last "month" post. Time has gone by so quickly. We were in Alaska at the 11 month mark which explains the winter clothes in our hot stretch.

Jaydon is a lot of fun - he is such an active boy that we must always have something to do or he is not as happy. His curiousity does make it nice for running errands, he loves to watch things and always seems to be thinking and analyzing (sound like his father maybe??). People say he looks a lot like his daddy, I guess he has quite a few other traits from his dad as well. He has said "cat" "duck" "mama" and "dada" though he doesn't use any of them with regularity. Cat and duck were used in the correct way but only once or twice while mama and dada are said more often not always in reference to the correct person. He doesn't really sign anything but he is getting pretty good at pointing to what he wants. He claps his hands, throws his ball and will look for and go to objects when you ask him to find them. We have really enjoyed playing with Jaydon these past few weeks.

I was being mean and pulled his pants up really high. He was in a pretty happy mood and thought it was kind of funny. Go figure he can wear some 24 month clothes, 18 month pants fit the best and yet these sweats say 12 months. The joy of baby clothing sizes.

The Explorerer Truck. This was a toy that I used as a child at my grandparents house and now my mom has it for Jaydon to play with. It is a bit scary at times because he will stand behind it and start pushing it pretty fast he somehow manages to keep up.

In general he enjoys walking and pushing things.

Jaydon's first parade

Between the move, a business trip for Jeremy, a trip down to Grandma's for Jaydon and me, a baby shower and then our big vacation to Alaska we had 18 hours in our house and it just so happened that there was a big parade happening. Jeremy was working on a grad school paper so Jaydon and I headed down to watch. It was pretty fun.

July...

Where oh where has July gone, I just noticed that I haven't posted anything since June 29th and we have had plenty of fun adventures. I will get around to back dating some posts from the Fourth of July and our move and birthday parties etc. No guarantees it will be before August though.

Here is a cute picture of Jaydon going down a slide at a school close to Grandma's house that will have to hold you over. He had a good time!

I love elementary schools. I remember playing on the playground at one near my grandparents house when we were growing up and it is nice that Jaydon has a good one near his grandparents house. It is also nice that we have a good one near our house now too!

This quick trip down to grandma's was occuring to see how she was doing after her double mastectomy. Her surgery and recovery went very well and she has already been declared CANCER FREE! Good thing for early detection!

Brenna Time

One advantage to our move is that we are closer to our closest family friends. Technically they are friends but realistically they are family. Brenna is four and a half months younger than Jaydon so they will get to spend quite a bit of time together growing up.

Nana Lainie brought Brenna over to help watch Jaydon so we could continue putting away all of our stuff after the move. Brenna was just learning to sit during this time period.

Moving

We had a lot of things fall into place for us with Jeremy's new job and our move. His new company was anxious to get him so they gave him the relocation package, we had never sold our house and the renters were able to find another place so we could move back into it early, my job is letting me come back and teach one class so I can be home most of the time...lots of little blessings in our journey back north.

Having a moving service was awesome. I literally took the pictures off the walls, packed the fridge/freezer and cleaned the empty apartment after the movers were done with packing and loading our belongings. Then they unloaded the boxes to take the recycling with them. The only hard part about that was that we then had all of our stuff everywhere througout the house to find a place for versus unpacking one box at a time where it belongs.

We did get our bed cleaned off enough to sleep in the first night and truly by the fourth day in the house we were done.

Jaydon's room was of course the priority - 1) we needed some baby proofed space 2) he needed a place to sleep after being in his pack n play in various places for the previous two nights. His room was completed pretty early in the unloading process.

We are enjoying being back in our old house!

Happy Birthday Jeremy

What a fun birthday to get to spend it moving? Jeremy doesn't care too much about celebrating birthdays and figured with moving in that day we wouldn't do anything, but I couldn't just do nothing so close family friends came to the rescue. You can see evidence of the move in progress in many photos.

Nana Lainie made Jeremy a cherry pie becuase he enjoys pie more than cake. She even managed to pull off the baking while watching Jaydon for us.

Jeremy was pleasantly surprised to get to enjoy some homemade pie.

Did I do a post about watermelon not that long ago? Did I happen to mention that Jaydon was obsessed with watermelon? Well, it really is that my son is just obsessed with FRUIT! Kiwi, berries (blue, red, straw, black), mango, watermelon, cherries, plums, peaches. He could eat whole meals of just enormous amounts of fruit - we try not to let him do this. He is also beginning to exhibit definite signs of stubborness (where did that come from...) when it comes to what he wants to eat. He is still pretty darn good at eating many things but his hand is getting a lot better at pushing away the spoon. Now if only our boy would feed himself.

Sophie Turns ONE!!

Sophie is adorable! Her mom and dad had such a cool birthday party for her and our whole family had a good time attending. I forgot my camera but luckily Asia comes by her obsession with photos naturally as her mother did a great job taking tons of pics of the entire event.

We had a great time and sure do miss not being as close to Sophie.

Cool Water Park!

There is a pretty cool water park in Snohomish near the Everett/Snohomish line. My family used to go to the Dragon park and while it is cool and has good memories - this one was much bigger! Jaydon enjoyed getting a chance to play in the water - it will be a bit easier once he is walking more on his own. The only downside was he was small compared to the other kids so it was hard for us to find a good spot for him to play in the water.

He seems to always have his tongue hanging out - not the most intelligent look but oh well.

BBQ at the Millard's

We had a great time visiting with the Millard Family before our move back North. They had this toy that sang a song about the Backyardigans and danced around - Jaydon truly enjoyed it. The problem now is that we have a book called Backyard Friends and everytime I see the book I get the song stuck in my head. We miss you Millard Family - come visit!

WATERMELON!!!

Jaydon had tried some mushed up watermelon when he was first starting solids and needed things mashed - it was pretty uneventful. Now that he can just eat bites and even hold/play with it is a whole different story. HE WAS OBSESSED! It was all he ate and the next day he wouldn't eat his other food - just watermelon. We started having to not even bring it to the table until other food had been eaten first.

Grandma kept pulling the melon forward to see if Jaydon would grab at it, but instead he just kept bending more and more until he was practically at the floor trying to eat it.

I am bummed, this picture does not come near to doing the justice to the mess that I thought it would.

Happy Fourth of July!

We had a nice Fourth - pretty mellow compared to the years I would spend at my grandparents' house on the beach - but very nice. Church in the AM (our last time going to MC4S - we will miss it there) and then we had over Grandma and Gram for a stovetop BBQ dinner.

Jaydon got a new American Flag ball from Grandma, it was a hit.
