J's miscellaneous

Every once in awhile I get on my phone or remember to sync some pics. These are just a random few from ones that Jeremy sent my way.
His awesome suit for his national business meeting - there was a wear the brand colors contest - he nailed it
Meeting his cousin and his second cousin on a business trip up North. He loved getting to meet them and of course snuggling a cute baby.

The kids at a giant horse - I honestly have no idea when this was taken or why, I don't think I was around.
Our Dad is loved, the above cards are birthday and the below ones are from Father's day. No worries that I am publishing them in November ;-)

Cribbage

We love playing cribbage. Jaydon in particular has really gotten into the game, Lucy plays quite a bit but needs a little more help.
A hand I got one time playing with Kate! I was glad the cut was a 10 so I didn't have to try and tell people how magical the hand could have been when only my almost 3 year old daughter was around as witness.
Then a couple weeks after my hand, Jeremy gets this one...

Ta-da! Almost the highest!

Happy Birthday Jeremy

We had a fun evening celebrating Dad's birthday.
Lucy made these matching crowns at the YMCA to celebrate.
I went to the French Bakery for an assortment of desserts for us all to try

Lucy made Dad a tower and then helped open his presents

Happy Birthday Honey!  We love you so much.

I thought these were fitting to put in here. I can't remember the exact date he did this but his company is launching a new product. Part of that launch meant he had to visit the same offices 4 times in a week, that is a lot. So my creative and fun husband got this 'disguise' so when he went into the offices the last days of the week he announced himself as Leremy not Jeremy. He had fun and the clinics did too!

Jeremy's travels

Jeremy has had a super busy past few months. He has traveled a ton.
One of his co-workers owns a horse, it raced, Jeremy went, it won and Jeremy got to go in the winner's circle. Quite an experience.
While on a work trip Jeremy got back to his room to grab his bags (it was of course the last day when he was supposed to be leaving). He sent me the above pic asking what is wrong with this picture. I wasn't sure, then I realized he was on the outside of the room but the safety latch was in place and no one was in the room. Long story short, a maid somehow got the bar latch as she was leaving to hook over the lock so he couldn't get in. Security couldn't help, maintenance couldn't help. After awhile maintenance tried breaking the door, it didn't work. Jeremy asked if he could try - I think he had some pent up frustrations and that door was just the thing, one shoulder ram later he busted the lock and was able to get his bag. Phew.

Stormaggedon

We were told to prepare for the storm of the half century!  It was supposed to be immense. It ended up being pretty much a dud though we did lose power for 2 hours. It was actually fun to have the power out for that bit of time. We put the kids to bed and Jeremy and I played cribbage in front of the fire by candle lantern. It was fun but I kind of wished it had lasted just a bit longer.

Happy Birthday Jeremy

As usual, the kids and I enjoyed celebrating Jeremy's birthday, probably more than he enjoys celebrating his birthday.  Lucy put together some 'gifts' from around the house and made a special card.  We enjoyed a nice dinner with Auntie Jenny and Cousin E joining us.

Everyone helped blow out the candles on his birthday pie.

Stories with Dad

Kate doesn't want me to read her stories before bed, she wants me for milk, so Dad has started doing story time every night and they have a good time with some daddy-daughter bonding.

Murder Mystery Dinner

For my birthday Jeremy took me out on a lovely date to the Murder Mystery Dinner.  It was a lot of fun and a great chance to get a quick break and have Kate be put to bed by someone else for the first time.

Sleepy time

I have not been able to sleep well (too huge) so I have been sleeping out on the couch every night.  On this night I came into the bedroom and found Higgins sleeping there but couldn't even see Jeremy.  Sure enough as I got a closer look he was buried under all the pillows quite snuggled up, I'm glad one of us can sleep!

Chia Lincoln

Jeremy had to attend a week long conference in Florida and he always comes home from these functions with a lot of weird gifts, this years theme was 'grow' so he has a ton of growing/gardening type things and while I mostly just try getting rid of the stuff as quickly as possible to declutter the house I decided to finally do a Chia pet.  Yep, that's right I have never done a Chia anything before and thought Jaydon would enjoy it so we set forth with this glorious Chia Lincoln that Jeremy was given.  I prepped it but then made Jeremy take over from there.

Jaydon has enjoyed it but I have been a bit creeped out.  The hair never grew in right on the front of his head so it is not very attractive and really it is kind of creepy and moist all the time seeping water out of the clay and a green fuzzy Lincoln.  The cool part of it is that Jaydon enjoys talking about Lincoln now but other than that I think I can probably pass on future Chia adventures.

Happy Birthday Jeremy

What a fun birthday to get to spend it moving? Jeremy doesn't care too much about celebrating birthdays and figured with moving in that day we wouldn't do anything, but I couldn't just do nothing so close family friends came to the rescue. You can see evidence of the move in progress in many photos.

Nana Lainie made Jeremy a cherry pie becuase he enjoys pie more than cake. She even managed to pull off the baking while watching Jaydon for us.

Jeremy was pleasantly surprised to get to enjoy some homemade pie.

Happy 31st! Blowing out the candles with help from Jaydon.

Although it looks as though Jaydon may burn his fingers at any moment he was farther away in real life.

Papa John and Brenna came for the party.

The Olympics!

Last fall we were visiting our friends Vitaly and Olga when Vitaly mentioned wanting to go to an Olympic hockey game and watch Belarus (his home country) play. Jeremy agreed that would be great and sort of forgot about it until Vitaly called to say he got tickets. He and Jeremy went to attend the Belarus vs. Finland game and had a wonderful time. I am a little jealous that I didn't get to take part but Jeremy did bring back a couple great gifts. As I am the one posting I really don't know what many of his pictures were of so I only highlighted a few - he may decide to change some of this post at a later time and add info.

Duh...The Olympic Torch (right before they removed the chainlink fence and Jeremy was standing on a garbage can or something to get an unobstructed view). I think he was even filmed by a Canadian news station for that.

How cool is this, you can practice your bobsledding.

Vitaly holding his flag (they ordered them online before the games and were quite pleased).
There seats were about 8 rows behind the Belarussian bench. I know they made it on tv in Belarus a number of times because Vitaly's friends called to say they saw him on tv.
Finland flag on the monitor - Lahti (my maiden name) is the second largest city in Finland so Jeremy of course had to cheer for Finland. They didn't disappoint Finland won 5-1.

Belarus flag

Cool building with a large tv on the side. This may have been where the game was.

Big J and Little Jay

I know it has been awhile for those of you who look frequently and have told me to get posting. Sorry, here are a few updates.
Jeremy will take Jaydon into our bedroom and shine the laser pointer (a toy for our cats) on the walls, ceiling and around in the light fixture - Jaydon enjoys watching the show. Higgins gets moderately jealous.

Jeremy did in fact lose his job

Wondering why I haven't posted much? Well, other than the fact that I only seem to get around to this every couple weeks and we are right about on schedule...

Jeremy did find out on the 7th that in the merger he was no longer needed. He did, however, register for 12 credits of grad school before finding out so he can get reimbursed, but that does mean he is a tad bit of a computer hog - understandbly so. This is not a bad thing for us though it is crazy to think that neither of us are working and we are okay. Jeremy was given a nice severance package and as long as he can find work by the end of Sept we are in fine shape. So he has been spending time working on his three MBA classes and being around to help out with the teaching Jaydon to sleep quest.
