Lucy is 1! It is crazy, her well child check is in a week so I will update her stats when I get them. I will guess she is around 23 pounds and about 30 inches tall. **So she had her Dr. app and did well, she is a trooper for shots and recovers really quickly, she is one tough kiddo. Her weight was 22lb 9oz for the 75% and her height was 31.25 for 95% so she is tall and growing like a champ!** She is a healthy girl who is very strong and has great body control. She has been walking for so long it is no sweat for her to really control herself on uneven surfaces and she just wants to be out adventuring. We called Jaydon Constant Motion Boy and Lucy takes after him. She will occupy herself with toys for a good chunk of time (10-15 minutes) but it is moving around with them, not sitting! She loves to climb things and has figured out some ladders and gets herself on and off other big toys. She talks a little bit, 'ba' is her favorite word and depending on what she is looking at or doing it can refer to many things - bath, ball, balloon, baby, baa baa book. She also has a few other words (up, mama, dada) and she will sign more and all done when she means it. She follows directions doing things around the house and she will look at the right object when we ask her where the cow is while reading a story but she doesn't really point to it in the story. She still can't have dairy and some soy stuff but otherwise she has a very large appetite and loves to eat! Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are a current favorite!
On her actual birthday enjoying the sunshine outside in our cul-de-sac. One of our neighbors brought out the birthday gift for her! Again, another example of our awesome neighborhood so many people show their love to us on special days!
ZZ and Emmett were really interested in helping Lucy with her present from Ruth!
The night of her birthday we had a great dinner (family favorite of burgers on the grill and sweet potato fries in the oven) and then enjoyed her dessert again.
Her first taste of ice cream (the coconut milk variety)!
Not so sure about the cold stuff but she did continue to eat it all up!
We love you Lucy, happy birthday to our big 1 year old girl!
