Summer Swim Lessons

The kids got to enjoy their 2 week swim lessons at our local outdoor pool again. It is fun but boy am I excited that next year I will get to stay dry and watch from the side so I can see all the kiddos swim and not just Kate. They loved it and did really well.

Fun Run

Some of you observant folks may have noticed that Jeremy has been absent from a bunch of the pics of things we were doing on weekends. Well, he had his second to last school paper due (before comps and dissertation) Aug 8 so he has been working like crazy, thus we have been working like crazy to find ways to get out of the house to let him work.  When driving by my mom's one day I saw a sign for a fun run earning money for cancer research, I figured why not. So we joined in. They had a nice 2 mile course and the kids did great. Jaydon walked/jogged the whole way. Lucy walked and scootered the whole way and Kate rode her bike about half way and rode in the chariot the other half. We had a good time and helped raise money for a good cause.

 

Camping

We took a quick overnight camping trip not too far from Jaydon's school so we could make it work on a school night. Grandma kept the girls and I just brought Jaydon after school Thurs and took him back in Fri morning. We had a good night and the kids had a lot of fun running around the campsite.

Fly Fishing Expo

I took Jaydon and Lucy to the fly fishing expo to meet up with Grandma while Kate stayed home with Dad and napped.  The kids had an ok time. Lucy enjoyed tying her fly, Jaydon wasn't as impressed.

Grandma emailed me a bunch of pics she has taken the past few months and so I decided to plunk them all in one big post!

Grandma took the kids on a mountain bike adventure - they were recovering from illnesses so it wasn't the biggest hit but they still had moments of fun.

Camping - they took 2 camping trips with Grandma and Gram this summer. They had a fabulous time!

Kate Gymnastics

Kate got to join a gymnastics class (she would get pretty jealous of always seeing sister go in and 'play').  She has been loving her class!  Grandma came and did it with her one morning so that I could get some pictures (taken through the glass but oh well).

Lucy Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Grandma got to take Lucy on her school field trip. This is such a great picture of them with Lucy's pumpkin that she picked - she picked the exact same kind of pumpkin I would pick.

Grandma Retires

We had a wonderful time celebrating the end of the school year with Grandma and her staff and welcoming in her retirement. After spending her life teaching PE and working at a HS (or her early years working at a CC), she is ready to enjoy some time away fishing, camping and bike riding with Gram. Congrats Mom!
