Lahti reunion part 2

The conclusion to our family reunion, and the reason we had it at this time, was to attend the Mariners game and see Griffey Jr.back in Seattle for his induction weekend. It was an amazing experience.  With all the little kids we decided to get a suite and it was really the best way to do it so that all the kids could move around and not have to sit in one seat. For a baseball loving family this was a very emotional day and celebration and we were so glad to be part of it (not to mention we all got the cool Griffey Jr. jerseys that were the giveaway).
Just hanging in the suite, watching the view and playing around.

Our view!

Amazing, we've been staring at the lone 42 for so long and now we have our own to add.
The pre-game ceremony involved many prominent black athletes from different Seattle sports.  The Glove threw out the first pitch to The Kid and it was so emotional!
Watching the game and eating some hot dogs

Crazies lovin' the game.

Jaydon intently watching...the TV of the same game that is on the field.

Getting all the second cousins together with the Moose (E was having none of it)

E said no way to the Moose
WooHoo, we got the W
E was pretty cute with his popcorn bowl
Right as the game was ending Ichiro got his 3,000th hit, it was cool to see them replay the hit and call on the big screen.
The whole crew at the game
The kids got to go on the field and run around the bases post game.  It was fun.
Clara's off
Followed closely by Lucy
Kate and Jeremy following close behind
Kate touching 2nd while Clara and Lucy are heading to home
Jaydon walked with E
Jeremy ran with Kate and had her slide into home.

Kind of funny to watch Jaydon and E, until E fell, whoops, thankfully the Dads behind him helped him up.

Touching Home!  We had a wonderful time and loved spending time with our family and the Ms.

Lahti reunion part 1

We had a pretty fabulous day 1 to the Lahti reunion.  We gathered at Jen's house for the day and played at the beach and just enjoyed each others company. It had been 2 years since we had been together and it was so much fun to see everyone again.
Enjoying a trip across the ferry (though not the almost 2 hour wait to catch it)

Kate loves 'flying' on the ferry.
These two cousins were nearly inseparable

When I first looked at this pic I missed baby Penelope down on the carpet. So cute in age order: Jaydon, Clara, Lucy, Owen, Etienne, Kate and Penelope (with one more on the way from Jen and L due to arrive at Thanksgiving).

Chow time! (Kate didn't get the beer)

Lucy and Kate enjoy giant bathtubs.

Heading out for a kid bike ride.

There was a bunny down this hill and soon after the picture was taken, Kate decided she had to get to the bunny and rode her bike right down it.  She crashed, she cried and she didn't get the bunny, it was somewhat traumatic.

A trip in the canoe

Adam, Clara, Jaydon, Lucy and Grandma Susan
Cheyenne (holding Penelope), Marya, Nana Diane and Grandpa Don
Haha, unfortunately the picture I took right before this one didn't turn out but Grandpa Don and Nana Diane had to do the walk of shame after forgetting their dog Troy at Jen's house when they took off for the night. They didn't get far before remembering but it was still fun to watch.

Kids

Jeremy and I were talking one day and we looked at each other and commented how being a parent truly brings meaning to our lives.  Here are some pics from some random days of the kids just being themselves.  It is a joy to be able to be the parents of Jaydon, Lucy and Kate.
Pig-piling and wrestling, often leads to tears but this morning was more friendly than most.

Creating a haven for all the huge stuffed animals they own.

Kate has started playing quite a bit more with baby dolls, for some reason the top stair is her favorite baby bed.  It is cute but a little hazardous.

Reading time!  Jaydon has spent the summer doing 30 minutes of reading most every day and the girls sometimes join in and read their own too.
