Well, what a way to end a fabulous week reunion?? Why not welcome a new member of the family! We had three expectant mamas at the reunion, Jen was 36 weeks, Marya was 32 weeks and I was 28 weeks. By Saturday morning a few families were packing up to head home and a few were staying through Sunday when we got the call that Marya had gone into labor. Being 32 weeks along was definitely a bit scary but she did an amazing job and around 8pm we welcomed our newest cousin Owen Nels weighing 3lb 12oz. After a couple hours that they got to snuggle an ambulance arrived from Spokane to transport the new dad and baby boy (along with the NICU nurses who had been flown out earlier in the day) back to Spokane to the NICU. Marya got released the next morning and her family got her back to the hospital to see her boy as soon as they could. The most current update I know is that baby Owen is doing quite well, he will be kept at the hospital until around his official due date (Sept 25th) but he is not having any major health issues that can be worrisome in a preemie!
