Jaydon turns 5

We enjoyed getting a chance to celebrate our 5 year old!  Hard to believe how fast time goes and I am glad I get to have another year of him being around before he goes into Kindergarten, he is excited to be starting his pre-k school soon.

Jaydon continues to be an active boy!  He loves sports and plays them almost constantly, baseball and football continue to be his favorites.  We are so thankful for our big playroom downstairs so he can play his sports and run around (though I am sure the rules will probably have to change as he continues to improve his hitting that batting practice probably needs to be an outside activity).  He continues to enjoy numbers, he likes to figure out time questions (how long until we do this or how long ago was this) and is starting to think in terms of basic multiplication (repeated addition) and fraction stuff.  He is also a terrific big brother.  He loves playing with Lucy and is super excited to be a big helper with the new baby coming.  He and Lucy have started having story time together and even snuggle pretty close some nights.  Though of course he also still thinks she may be a running back to his linebacker sometimes and really enjoys playing tackle even when she may not be ready.
Opening his football birthday card

He got a real wood bat from the M's game

He got a globe from Grandma and Gram, he enjoys figuring out where things are

His lunch dessert!  He does love his Seahawks and this giant cookie was delicious

Opening more presents, he is very much like his Granny and Dad, he is not that interested in opening his presents quickly. He enjoys them but has no desire to tear through them and see what he got, in fact it was a chore to get him to open them all and we even had to go into the next morning encouraging him to open a few more (definitely does not take after my side of the family on this one :-))

A very cool Angry Birds game from his Buckner Grandparents

He wanted to have a special dinner out with just Mom and Dad so we left Lucy with a neighbor and he chose to go to Red Robin (his favorite).  He also asked that we all squeeze into one side of the booth so we could all sit together.  It was pretty cute and we had a blast.  He loved his birthday Sundae too!
