E turns 2

We were happy to get to take a trip out to celebrate E turning 2.  It was a big bash with lots of people and the kids had a great time running around being crazy.
The birthday boy poses in his party hat, I don't adjust my camera out of auto mode so the light pouring in from behind made for some really stellar pics - sorry.

The kids played outside for hours.  Lucy and Jaydon met a couple friends and they played together the whole time.

Lucy

Lucy worked hard all day with this little notebook and a purple pencil, she kept saying she had to get her homework done.  Evidently that meant fill in squiggles on every line of the book - it took her quite awhile but she was determined.  I think if I fast-forwarded 10 years I could see a similar picture in our future, leg up, relaxing on the couch, looking at some kind of book...

Jaydon's 1st day of 1st grade

Annual picture by the door, first year of rain on the first day of school.

Waiting at the bus stop with his sisters.

Jaydon's project is on the right.  Lucy did her bear on the left with her teacher at their meet n' greet on this same day.

We ended our first day of school celebration hitting our local ice cream shop! Those are some happy kids. Yea School.

Labor Day

We celebrated Labor Day with a baseball game and S'mores.  Life is good!
Jaydon had won free tickets to an Aquasox game (Mariners double A affiliate) so we headed to the game. It was great fun, close to the action, the team got a key strike out which made small popcorn only $1 and the kids won cool prizes on the spinner wheel.  All in all we spent about $13 bucks for great seats, 2 popcorns, 2 hot dogs, 2 Mariners hats and an Aquasox water bottle. Not to mention we got to see a great walk off win in the bottom of the ninth.

Then we headed to our neighbors to enjoy some S'mores. It was a great end of summer celebration!

Consensus was messy deliciousness!

As you can see it was not the perfect s'mores fire, it was a bit of a raging inferno but Adam was trying to get rid of a bunch of scrap wood he had in his back yard and it worked just fine for us.
Just the 5 of us.

The kids ran around and enjoyed Dover's doggy door.  Jaydon, then Alexa and finally Kate made their appearances.

Movie Night

Jeremy sent me this pic when I was working of the kids enjoying a movie night together.  Jeremy and Jaydon had read Charlotte's Web quite a while ago and they finally got a chance to watch the movie.  It was a fun night for them. (Sorry you can barely see the pic)

Jaydon writing and Lucy art

It has been awhile and I wasn't sure I had posted these cute letters from Jaydon so even if they are repeats on the blog I had to make sure I got pics before they were recycled.  It was so fun to watch his writing grow and improve throughout kindergarten, I look forward to seeing what he accomplishes in 1st grade.

His PE teacher puts up a bulletin board highlighting active kids. Each month is a different grade level, when she sends home the pictures at the end of the month she writes a little note on them. It was pretty cute.
Lucy's hand print flower pot. (probably a repost but again it lived on the fridge for a long time so I just wasn't sure).

Story Time

Ahhh...it is so cute to watch my husband and kids read stories together.  I love that books play a part in our time with our kids each day.

Even Higgins likes to get in on story time. Though he often gets booted because he gets in the way of the reader seeing the words.
