The Joys of June

We had a couple weeks in June when things slowed down and we thought we would be able to enjoy a pretty relaxing summer. The end of the school year always has some fun activities (and teaching again meant I had a lot of work to finish up before the year ended). We found out on June 19th, that we would be relocating to CA so from that point on our few weeks of down time were in the rear view mirror and we were in for quite a ride the next few months.
The girls love getting to have some screen time and share their shows.

We had a huge hail storm in early June, it was crazy and fun.

Father's Day with Daddy! We took the ferry across to see my Dad and sister and enjoy a meal (and of course really good ice cream)
Lucy's kindergarten celebration, she did such an awesome job this school year and we are so proud of her, we were also super lucky to have Mrs. Homchick as her teacher (who Jaydon had in 1st grade).

End of the season gymnastics performances

Argh, so bummed for the blurry pic of Lucy getting her medal

Familiar family pose at the end of the season

Jaydon had his first sleep over at a friends house, this is him napping the next day (which he never does) because they had such a great time staying up most of the night!

Hot

We have had an insanely hot summer!  Many from around the Nation may scoff at our temps but keep in mind most people in this neck of the woods don't have air conditioning so when our bedrooms are all in the low to mid 80s it is not too pleasant.  The kids slept on the floor with a fan to help cool off.

Traveling and Hotlantaenter

We flew in and out of Atlanta for our family reunion in North Carolina.  We got to stay at Jeremy's high school buddy's house and hang out with them for an evening/morning before making the drive to NC the following day.
We are lucky to have good travelers, it was our first plane trip in over a year.
Kate peeking out the window
I didn't get a picture of it but we went out to a fun little French Cafe restaurant for breakfast.  It was just the 5 of us and it really made it feel like we were on vacation!  Most every vacation we go on is to be with extended family so it was fun to have one meal just us.
We swung by Olympic Park in Atlanta,  it was cool to see all the stuff they did for probably my most watched Olympics.  It was a hot day! But we all survived.

You can't tell in the picture but all the black tiles are flags from around the world
After the Olympic Park we went to the Children's Museum across the street.  We enjoyed hanging out in the cool A\C while the kids played and burnt off some energy before our 5+ hr drive north.

This was the favorite spot, a moon sand table
Hudson is quite the handsome dude, sorry for the blurry pic.

Enjoying the quiet room with a story about Sneeches.

I was trying to get a pic of entering South Carolina and then entering North Carolina.  We were in terrible construction at the South Carolina border and for some reason I only saw this sign, not quite what I was hoping for.  The pic below is of Jeremy smirking at me when I totally missed the North Carolina one.  It was humorous, I was so close.

Ugly pic of an Olympic torch site on our drive back to the airport to fly home.
