Ha, the problem with taking so long to update my blog, I had the pictures and the post label filled out but as I look back I have no idea why I was going to post them. Oh well, Kate was being cute, Jaydon was sick and Lucy was being silly.

Lucy's new Leotard
Lucy is loving her gymnastics class. She also loves her new leotard! She had her first little show, where she did some moves with her class in front of an audience at the Children's museum. It was fun and she was very nervous but then got into it and did a great job.
All of the below pics are from her performance. We had fun watching her and she loosened up and did all the routine pieces.

Some snow
Jaydon's school was two hours late (I remember when that was so awesome as a kid, as a parent on the very first day back after winter break 10:30am couldn't have come fast enough). We got outside and enjoyed the trace amounts of snow before sending Jaydon off on the school bus to start out 2016.

Lucy gets sick
Poor Lucy, and poor us. My kids are all different and that is apparent in how they get ill; Jaydon will get croup, Lucy will vomit and Kate will get ear infections. It is nice to have a variety :-)
We were hosting our last guests of the holidays, Erin and Jason from the midwest (Erin and Jeremy did band stuff together in AK) when Lucy came down with her illness. I apologize for grossing people out but I have to at least mention this so I can remember years down the road, skip the rest of this paragraph if you don't want any details. Lucy went to bed, I heard something and thought it was Jaydon still coughing from his croup, then I heard it again (probably about 10 minutes later) and ran into their room, it wasn't Jaydon coughing, it was Lucy throwing up. It was everywhere on her bed, her hair, her pjs. It was the biggest disaster I had seen and wasn't even sure how to begin, we had enjoyed spaghetti for dinner. Poor girl, I think I just stared at her for a minute wondering what to do. then I got her in a shower and called Jeremy home from our neighbors house to help. After washing and drying on the sanitize setting 3 full times the sheets and clothes were finally clean. Whew, quite a disaster and poor Lucy.

Our newest cookie thief
Kate was so proud of herself! She found out how to climb onto the big bin next to the counter (that holds cookies and goodies all season long) and reach onto the counter to grab some cookies out of the dishes.
Her scrunchy nose smile just kills me!
Then of course having Papa visiting means she has a co-conspirator who will certainly help her eat all the cookies she can manage.

New Year's
Another super low key New Year's for the Smoldon/Chervenak party. Unfortunately Papa got sick this year (just like last year) and so he was in bed and thus we put the kids to bed at the normal time and then planned to go to bed ourselves. However, we just kept talking which led to us actually being awake at midnight! Crazy, I don't think I've seen midnight on New Year's in awhile.
Haha, I wanted photographic evidence that we lasted until midnight. The pic above where the clock is actually showing Jeremy gave me his usual selfie face, below I am just holding a blank phone - awesome.
And this gem of a photo, a reflection of the inside of our house with a tiny sparkle of the fireworks that went off in the next cul de sac. Happy New Year!

Family Time
We got home from MN and were lucky to have Grandpa and Nana and Granny and Papa to hang out with us for a couple days.
More presents, this time Jaydon was busy painting in his new book - he had another croup battle so it was a low key day for him to let the meds start working and help him breathe more easily.
Higgins loves Christmas
We went into Downtown and enjoyed wondering around Pike Place and had a fun meal together before Grandpa and Nana had to start their journey back to CA.
