Kodiak: fishing

We loved fishing!  We didn't do a ton of catching (as far as any keepers) but we still had a marvelous time on the days we got to go in the boat or to the rivers.
Kate enjoying her first boat ride
Ready to go catch some fish
Lucy takes her driving seriously
Kate would rather eat the steering wheel

We caught quite a few Irish Lords

Kodiak: 4th of July

A Kodiak 4th with a couple parades, good food and adventures
First was the downtown parade, only a few hot rods a fire truck and a trailer with all the flags.

Getting some candy!
A couple goats on the parade route

We headed to Chiniak in the afternoon (where the road ends) for another parade and a fun BBQ

Lucy saying hi to the bear
Kate and Dad showing their 4th spirit
Yummy hot dogs
Lucy was asked to wear the butterfly wings for the parade
Papa was Uncle Sam
The parade leaders

Family fun
And we're off!
the 4th Princess

The kids walked and waved their flags the whole time (about a mile)
Then Jeremy and Papa got to be good Samaritans and help these guys get their truck unstuck
On the drive we got slowed down by this herd of cattle.

Kodiak: around the house

We flew up to Kodiak to spend a week and a half with Granny and Papa, it was wonderful!
Jeremy was on the first leg with us and then I did the last leg with the kids by myself so he could work in Anchorage.  It worked out quite well, especially when the older two both decided to doze on the flight to Kodiak

The little one was not so interested in sleeping on this flight.
Jaydon helped Papa put some rails on his deck

We taught the kids how to play dominoes

Lots of "go fish" and "slap jack" were played
Kate enjoyed the instruments
Papa removed my stitches and taught me how for future reference
Enjoying some yummy salmon
Granny gave her some pig tails and the pretty bows!
Granny and Papa's bathtub was a huge hit.  All the kids loved it!!
A little bubble bath goes a long way with the jets on.
