Happy Thanksgiving

We had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday.  Granny and Papa flew into town for a couple days and we just had a low key but delicious holiday at our house with Great-Grandma and her friend Darlene joining us too. Jeremy and I prepared the meal for only our second time and we are doing pretty well, some timing stuff but for the most part the food was ready somewhat closely together and it tasted pretty good!
Jeremy carving the bird.
Some of the spread
Dishing Jaydon some food.
Sitting down to the table.  Jaydon was thankful for Santa and Christmas Trees (seriously he has said those whenever we have asked what he is thankful for before we pray since last Christmas), and he also said his family!  It was dang cute.

Lucy was loving her mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes
Enjoying a story with Great-Grandma!

Spokane Trip

So evidently I do not do nearly as good a job keeping it all together when my husband is away.  Basketball started, child care had to be arranged, bags had to be packed and I still had to get the kids and I down to my moms to meet Jeremy when he returned before immediately flying out the next morning for my cousins wedding.  So while I am happy to report I did remember to take both cameras!  I am ashamed to admit I forgot to take a single photo and actually forgot the cameras in my luggage when we attended the actual wedding.  Grrr, so alas, the photos you see of our trip are ones I stole from friends and family off face book to prove we were in Spokane and a wedding did take place.
Lucy meeting Uncle Jeff, Jeremy's biological uncle.
The four of us after lunch with one set of family before heading off to see another.  It was great to hang out with Uncle Jeff and his whole family and get to meet our cousins!

Ok, somewhat proof a wedding did take place, I don't have a photo of the bride and groom which I really hope to rectify and if I find some on facebook I will gladly add them here later but I do have a photo of Stephen and Marya (sister of the bride) looking smokin' hot!

While dad is away

We managed to keep ourselves busy and sane during dad's trip but it wasn't easy.  Jaydon discovered train track hula hoop and lucky for us grandma and gram came up to visit on the weekend J was gone to play with the kids and give me a bit of a break. I have so much respect for single parents and military parents out there   I don't know how they do it!

We are still here!

Sorry folks, for those of you who try checking here every once in awhile to see how we are doing!  We are surviving and I have a huge list going of the updates I am planning to do I just haven't found time to get around to them.  I am still trying and maybe sometime in this next week during the evenings I will be successful, just in time to kick off all the fun holiday posts :)

A few updates, sans photos, from our family:
Jeremy took a new job with UCB, another pharmaceutical company.  The really nice thing is no more travel to AK and he will get a chance to sell some different meds for Parkinson's and epilepsy which will give him a chance to continue to learn new stuff which he loves.  The only real bummer about this new job is that it comes with two weeks of travel in Atlanta!  It certainly isn't great timing for him to be gone for two weeks (both kids are a bit sick, Lucy is teething, I start basketball coaching in five days - fun times) but we are making it work and are very thankful for his new opportunity.
Jaydon is working on his potty training and doing  a mighty good job.  He was nailed with a yucky virus right on Halloween that kept him down for a couple days and then led to an awful cough.   Coughs are tough, they hurt, they keep everyone awake and there isn't a lot to be done for them except drink honey.  Luckily he is feeling a bit better now so hopefully back to normal soon.  He started swimming lessons (more on that in a previous post with photos when I get to it) and loves playing with his little sister.
Lucy is up and walking around on furniture and even pushed a toy around the carpet walking around last week.  She is working on that pesky second tooth and is doing well with teething but not sleeping well.  She loves to explore everything around her, especially what her brother is getting into.
I am tired but hanging in there, I may not win any parenting awards this month while Jeremy is gone and I am in awe of single parents and the work they do.  I am excited for basketball to start and look forward to Lucy turning one so I can start eating some sinfully delicious foods again!

Here are a couple photos of our fall fun just to keep you in the loop until I get more updates on here.

Grandma and Gram's

With Jeremy being out of town for two weeks straight and having trips to AK the three of the previous four weeks we spent some time at Grandma and Gram's.  It was nice to have another couple sets of hands for me and the kids always have a great time playing with grandma and gram.
Jaydon wasn't great about staying in his room and when he is quiet we don't always know where we will find him.  Grandma and I were downstairs watching a show and this is how we found him at about nine-thirty one night before we went to bed.
We really did have some lovely crisp fall weather this year.  Here we went on a short hike with Jaydon on his scoot bike, Auntie, Grandma and Dad were there too.
Lucy enjoyed the hike in her stroller!
On a different visit a week or so later we got to go out and play in the leaves, Jaydon was a great helper!

Jaydon really enjoys these number stacking cups!  He has really started doing a lot of little adding stuff and bigger number stuff which is fun to watch.  Here he was lining up the cups in number order on the stairs.

Lucy found the Christmas karaoke microphone, she loved dancing to the songs!

Stories with dad

The kids were trying to soak up as much good quality dad time and possible before he had to fly to Atlanta for two weeks.  They loved having some extra story times!

Trick-or-Treat

Sure enough a couple days after Halloween Jaydon wasn't feeling 100% but he was much better and since we were leaving for grandma's house the next day we decided to get our trick-or-treating in with our closest neighbors.
Cookie and the chicken heading up the driveway
Posing by our pumpkin
Visiting Bud and Trudy where he got an apple and some candy

Heading up to Jim and Donna's.
Lucy found the candy!  She didn't actually get to try any but she loved playing with the wrappers.
Have I mentioned what wonderful neighbors we have :-)
