We drove away from our house and stayed one night at my Mom's to drop of Lily (and some stuff Jeremy would drive down in the move). We then woke up early and caught a flight to NC for a family reunion. One of the fun activities is that 10 of us participated in the Ohana Family Mud Run. It was a blast.
Pre-race, looking good! Great Uncle Bill (probably the oldest participant of the race), Auntie Jenny, Jeremy (with non-participant Kate on his shoulders), me, Cousin Matthew, Jaydon, Cousin Sally, Lucy, soon to be Cousin Sydney and Cousin Michael
And we're off...
Just getting started having done one little hill.
Cousin Michael was worried he may not get muddy enough so he slid down the first little hill on his belly.
Gram (Nancy) and Aunt Mary were spectators
Feeling pretty good about our progress so far
This hill was super hard to get up
Some surfing down the other side
Family sticking together, and Jeremy considering throwing a mud ball at our adoring fans
The halfway point
Another tough hill, this one we had to use Jeremy's back as a stool
Kate wasn't quite old enough to participate and she still talks about wanting to do the mud run sometime
This stage we had to do a wheelbarrow race with one partcipant
Scaling those wall barriers
Family leap frog
The finish slide
Crossing the line and getting our medals, unfortunately we were all so gross we neglected to get the group after shot
Kate didn't seem to want a hug from me...
Sisters!
Uncle Bill had some babysitting duty with baby Greyson
Clean up time, surprisingly it didn't do much good. Thankfully we loaded the back of a truck and were able to go jump in the lake as soon as we got "home"
Some swinging time
It was a blast. Jaydon and Lucy still loudly claim they will not do another mud run. I am game for when Kate wants to do hers but boy do I hope we have a lake to jump in after!
