Brenna turns 3!

Brenna turned 3 and we had a great time at her party.
Meeting Hildy the new addition at the Leighton household
Brenna introducing Jaydon to Hildy
Food time!
Coloring activity, Jaydon continues to spend about 30 seconds on an art project and move on.
Belly button time
Cake time, she specifically requested and helped decorate her pink cake with yellow flowers.
Lucy and Hildy, nose to nose, not sure who was more interested in checking out the other.
Jeremy is very proud of this photo he took of Hildy, he timed it just about perfectly.
Tired out after the party and ready for a nap on the way home.

Visit with Grandma and Gram

We enjoyed a quick visit with Grandma and Gram.
Lucy had a great time being the 8th kid (from our family) to play on the explorer truck!

Jeremy and Jaydon got the game Sorry for Christmas and they have been enjoying it.  Jaydon is really into dice right now so we soon ended up switching from using the cards to a couple dice and it has worked really well!

Seahawks!

Our only real regret not having cable is that we don't get to watch sports much, some are streamed which is great but for all the Seahawks games we had to make journeys to various neighbors or family to watch.
We were getting ready to go to watch the first playoff game with our neighbors (we have such awesome neighbors) and Jaydon was so excited he couldn't even be bothered to do his coat correctly! He takes his football every time we watch a game.

I have discovered that since I don't buy my kids toys I can splurge every once in awhile on a jersey!  I have always wanted one for myself but instead we ended up buying two for Jaydon - I know we are crazy but seriously it is worth the money.  We can just buy two jerseys and he will wear them almost every day of his life and that works for us.  He loves acting as Russell Wilson or Marshawn Lynch when he is wearing his jerseys!

Visit with the Akanas

We are so thankful that the Akana family comes to visit us each year.  I promise some year soon we will get down to OR for a visit.
Playtime!  Cashel found the new car tracks and Peter was enjoying the explorer truck.
We didn't actually attempt to get a photo of them all until it was time to leave and that then meant there was some tiredness involved but we really did have a great short visit!

Can't you just feel the excitement from this one :)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  We again enjoyed a very low key New Year's Eve celebrated with friends early in the evening.  We watched some fire works on the tv at sevenish and called it a night!
FOOTBALL!! Jaydon really loves football, he watches it, plays it, talks about it!  Here we were watching the rose bowl.
Higgins was thrilled to have us home from our many travels.
Playing with some of the new toys from christmas.  Jaydon got this cool magnet mosaic set from Auntie and Uncle!  The kids really do play pretty well together - here they both had a fabulous time making a big mess with all of Jaydon's toys and animals in his room.

Our annual family photo

Our holidays were a complete whirlwind this year and the entire month seemed to get away from us.  While we had a fabulous time on all of our adventures we didn't have time for our annual family photo in front of the Christmas tree, so while this was technically taken in the New Year we wanted to post the one decent pic we got.  I think it is getting harder and harder to coordinate the kids and cats!

Home from Christmas for Christmas :)

After a week plus of fun Christmas adventures we arrived back home in time to open our stockings from Santa and a few other gifts family from afar had sent our way.
Santa brought Jaydon bunnies and apples in his stocking again!
Grandpa Jim and Grandma Jo sent our whole family a bunch of fun gifts and Lucy was particularly enamored with her new seahorse.  She loves it and the soft nightlight is great for me for middle of the night diaper changes.

We finally splurged a bit and got our kids a fun big kitchen for Christmas, it is really the first time we have gotten them anything too big as we have so many family who wonderfully spoil them.  Unfortunately, we don't have a ton of room in our house so it will have to wait until we move (probably occurring sometime in the spring of 2013) to a bigger place.
