Happy Father's Day!

I was trying to surprise Dad with the most amazing Father's Day gift ever *sarcasm.* Our toilet seat was very old with some brass that was corroding and breaking so I bought a new one and was going to have it installed and ready for him before he came back from a trip to AK.  Unfortunately, I had two children who needed attention and while I got one side unscrewed the other was really hard. I fought it for awhile and then had to give in so Jeremy got the fun job of fixing the toilet seat himself - Happy Father's Day!
So comfy.  He ended up working on it for 40 minutes and had to use the hacksaw so at least I know I wasn't just a wuss.
The kids in the morning doing some play time together.
Lucy sitting up (one of her new favorite positions)
Here she even has Hank, one of Jaydon's loves but Jaydon is really great at sharing his toys (so far :))

Two old wedding photos!

Well due to our new camera being out of commission I finally had to get out the old one and found a couple photos from getting ready for Jenny's wedding.  Not great but we were in a huge rush trying to get to Tacoma and Lucy was only four days old.  Here she is doing tummy time in her dress (way to big but the colors were perfect and it didn't matter once you put the little sweater over it) and then a not so happy looking Jaydon in his suit.  I am bummed that we don't actually have a family photo of all of us dressed up for the wedding but oh well!

*note, if you read our blog frequently I have a couple posts that I played catch up with so scroll down even though you may have already read some of the Lucy updates.*

Lucy Rolls Over

Lucy rolled over from her front to back at about 28 days but only did it twice or three times and hasn't really done it since.  But, more impressively, she just rolled over from her back to her front this morning.  She was on the dining table while we were all eating breakfast and she got herself over to her side and then after a bit of work she went fully over to her tummy.  Wow, I am not ready for my 10 week old to roll over from back to front, but it is pretty cool to see her developing and how strong she is.

Last day of preschool

I am so thankful that we found such an awesome mom and me class through our local tech college.  It was a great place for Jaydon to play and learn while I got to also meet with other parents about any topics of interest in raising a toddler.  So fabulous, I highly recommend people look at their local colleges for the parent adult education courses if they offer them.  So AWESOME.
Here is a picture of our last day.  Teacher Francie is leading us in the Fire Truck song, a favorite of many of the kids!  Jaydon would give Teacher Francie hugs each day after class and really had a great time.  He has many friends from school who he continues to talk about and we will continue to see and visit over time.  I guess I just can't say enough great things about this experience for us.  At some point when it fits with Lucy's nap schedule we will either do the sibling class with both kids or we will just have Lucy be in the classes while Jaydon is at a real preschool (which we got him in an awesome one next year that is two days a week and focuses on physical ed and music in addition to regular preschool type stuff).

Another Lucy Update

Well, things were looking better (diaper rash almost completely gone) and then it started getting worse again.  My thought, the dairy was definitely part of what is bugging her but not all so being off it is good but she now had time to adjust and tell me that something else is still hurting.  She has this constant butt burn with diarrhea and her spit up can still be monumental, though sometimes it is definitely improved.

So we went to see the dr. again today, Lucy had gained almost 2 inches (24.25) but had only gained 3 ounces.  Now in 14 days the minimum weight gain they would want is 7 ounces so 3 is definitely low.  We have an appointment with an allergist and nutritionist late next week to talk about stuff but the recommendation was a pretty insane diet.  No diary, soy, wheat, eggs, rice, nuts or peas.  So I get to eat fresh whole meats (most processed meat or lunch meat has bad proteins in it) and fruits and veggies.  So much for the dairy free brownies I finally broke down and made yesterday because I really wanted a dessert other than coconut milk ice cream, the ice cream is good but man a cookie sounds devine right about now.  I think we will start in stages and continue with diary free and add soy free and egg free for the next few days and then we will add the wheat and rice and finally the nuts and peas.  Not so much fun, but Lucy is a trooper so I can be too.

Alien on a Rampage

A friend of mine who I used to teach with and play a lot of morning basketball with has become a published author.  Clete Barrett Smith has written Aliens on Vacation and followed it up with Alien on a Rampage.  They are awesome upper elementary, middle school age books set in the great northwest.  We made it to his book release party and signing for his first book and were happy to go again for his most recent book.  I think I heard he is negotiating for this to be a five part series and Disney has already talked about doing a movie so we shall see, it is pretty exciting for Clete and we loved getting a chance to see him and buy his books.
Enjoying some Alien snacks after getting our books signed :)  Our inscription mentioned how much Aliens love math and basketball and if the author wrote it it must be true!  :)

Lucy and James

The Tuts got up to visit and meet Lucy, it was great to see them and Jaydon enjoyed playing a bit with Gavin.  James is a baby whisperer and he got Lucy to sleep, he will need those skills in another few months when they add to their family.  Congrats Tuts and thanks for the visit and the meal!
